    Which tard doth I buy?

    Hi guys,
I have another itch. I'm seriously considering a bigger tard and have ended up with the usual suspects. Choosing between a Ducati Hypermotard, a KTM 990 SMT or a new Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200.
I want all three. I can't have all three. I haven't ridden an Aprilia but like the other two...well, I didn't really like the Ducati when I rode one a few years ago, but I'm sure it is more suitable now. Seemed too small and too busy. But then I wasn't really riding motards at all then. The KTM purchase would involve travelling east and riding it home just after Xmas. The Aprilia means waiting til Feb???
I just don't know. I'm not a super hooligan, or even a mild hooligan but I do like the flexibility these bikes offer. We don't go touring or even riding more than 2 hours at a time, so my Rocket will be sold.
I need to make a choice very soon. Damn..... can a garage host 2 of these????

Can you wait until February? Have a look at a Husqvarna Nuda as well.

Please don't ask questions you clearly know the fucking answer to, you smarmy prick.

haha just read a review, this is taken from a husqvana press release...
You can call it Supermoto if you want, or Naked ... but we prefer just to call it: NUDA 900 R.

The Hypermotard feels like a road-bike trying to be a dirt bike while a real Supermoto feels like a dirt bike trying to be a road bike.

I would happily settle on the Hypermotard Heard the Dorsoduro is heavy for its size?

Sadly Tiger is in NZ and I can't import it. Is Duc really not that reliable? Thought those days were over. Nuda ok but not as powerful as others. Is Duc ok for 400km day trips? No wind protection at all. Cheers

I'd wait till you can test ride a Nuda most people seem to be excited by how it looks, its based on a Boring Motorcycle Works product its possible the thing is pretty tame. Filbert has been running a hyper motard for a year or two with no issues AFAIK the air cooled machines are pretty sorted, Just to confuse the matter Guzzi Griso!

Gay? yeah sure, it's a boy bike that likes to be manhandled.

Heavy? Maybe, don't drop it and you won't have to pick it up, it handles like it's a lot lighter.

Slow? Yeah I'll wear that one but it carries the speed it has well and you don't get left behind
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

If you know anyone who really considers a bike 'gay' then I'd be concerned. I'd say 99% of riders on here actually ride the bike THEY choose. Heavy????? I'd suggest you ride a Rocket for a few years, and slow.....yeah, I hope so. I want to ride at speeds that won't get me into too much strife. I don't mind spending money on my bikes, just hate being heavily fined. Anyway, I haven't got it yet. We'll see......and report back.
