Going off memory here but Brno 1996 was interesting for a few things the first being that Jean MIchel Bayle was on pole. Bayle was at the time the best motorcross rider in the world and had switched to Road Racing. His first actual road race was a 250 GP. I think he came last and instead of JM Bayle they started calling him Jean Michel "Snail". But he was obviously a quick learner He was a bit too large though. At the press conference to announce he was joining the team, Kenny Roberts said he was taking Bayle to the hospital the next day to get his legs chopped down as he was "too damn tall". The other interesting thing about the Brno race was "Miffed Mick" this is the one where Mick dubbed himself "The Tow truck". This was in reference to him towing Criville around and showing him the lines and then Alex pipped him on the line. If Mick cares to have a look at the tape again he will realise he spent a fair bit of time sitting on Criville's tail in the early to mid stages. As for the other viewing (1995) those wondering why Dani Pedrosa's mentor Alberto Puig walks with a limp should check out the 1995 500cc highlights tape which shows Puig hitting an airbag at 190 MPH and breaking his leg.

Saw the "snail" ride at Manjimup in 1992, the only time the Motocross Des Nations was held outside of continental Europe, he blitzed everyone and I can still remember him coming around a corner on the wrong side of the bike, off line at full noise just making the bike do his will, only other person I have seen do that sort of shit was Schwantz.
