    Casey Stoner mentally fragile?

Someone has suggested Stoner is mentally fragile (not me).
I think it's a stupid suggestion, what do you think?

Casey might be mental - just watch the way he rides a bike through turn 12 at Phillip Island. Mentally fragile though? Most of that crap dates back to his "mystery illness" in 09 which was later diagnosed as a severe lactose intolerance.

I'm sorry but someone who pukes in their helmet and just continues with the race I wouldn't consider mentally weak.
It takes a lot of mental strength to continue and finish a race like that, most people would pull the fk over and just go 'fk this'.

    Yes, complete media beatup.
He's a marshmallow, why is why he's about to win the world championship in one of the physically toughest sports on the planet.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

    Ofcourse he was mentally fragile....
A few seasons on a ducati put doubt in his mind if he was actually the best.
A few months on a Honda answered that

It's funny that no-one has asked if Barry Sheene, Wayne Rainey or Mick Doohan were mentally fragile given what happened to them! Is anyone questioning Rossi's state of mind.....no! I think Stoner like most other top level racers are mentally 'agile'. How else can you explain their levels of motivation and determination to succeed in a sport which many consider dangerous? The decision process and mental agility required to focus for 40 odd minutes and win races goes a fair way to proving just how strong, mentally, Stoner and other top level riders are.
As stated before it's media speculation and sensationalism, trying to make something from nothing. My 2 cents.

Christ, this annoys me. What exactly have these muppets achieved in their miserable lives other than looking for a negative angle.
    Tall poppy syndrome or what?
Casey fan or not, he has the runs on the board and the trophys in his pool room.
Can we not just accept and acclaim people with extraordinary talents in their chosen field without looking for flaws?
Comparisons with other riders past and present are absolutely pointless.
Motorcycle racing is a sport, not a fucking popularity contest.
