Could this year be the last WSBK at PI...

    ... in February?

Dorna are pushing hard, on the back of issues raised by Rossi and others that the track is too dangerous (wet and windy) for an event in October. Dorna want Round 1 of the season from 2012 which will clash nicely with WSBK. Article on crash.net

Personally I think WSBK is so much better as a spectacle for the racing enthusiast than MotoGP, so I'd be pissed if WSBK was shunted to a less ideal time weather wise. Timing of both events is ideal in that it is roughly six months apart - those that go to both have a decent amount of time to arrange a leave pass or what ever to get to both. Having seen some shit weather in Feb/March at PI, and equally seen some awesome weather in October, I wonder if it may be pandering to Rossi and his followers?

    What do you think?

Those dicktwisters at Dorna are forgetting thgat the GP used to run at the start of the season at the Island, but they moved it towards the end.....because of DODGY WEATHER !!

Hot tip: the weather at PI is always unpredictable, and may turn to complete shit at any moment with no warning.

Rossi: take your balls out of Uccio's mouth and start using them
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Apparently a dry, windless one without too much sun.
Does Phillip Island even have a month with all of that?

It will be interesting to see how all motorsport events are handled from now on.
Rumours of F1 not being wanted in Melbourne by the government and being heavily subsidised in the first place, Bernie being all to happy to take his circus to somewhere that will pay him more. MotoGP wanting perfect conditions, no one wanting WRC at all.
The governing bodies are happy enough to take a race away froma place that seems to underperform and send them to places that pay the most to get them.

Abu Dhabi is apparently a "boring track" according to some of the supertaxi drivers and look at how Bahrain has turned out.

I wonder where it will all end.

I'm failing to see any information stating they are even contemplating canceling WSBK on the crash.net article or anywhere else that I've seen.

organisers aren't keen to see the event pushed up the calendar due to the proximity with its other headline event, the World Superbike Championship, which usually takes place in February.
Carmelo Ezpeleta has been adamant that MotoGP will not return to Phillip Island beyond 2011 unless organisers agree to a move that will see the event occur earlier than its traditional October slot.
    Too many assumptions being made....

Well, so much for that !! Bloody showers, and the morning warmup lap times in the 1 :43s.

Thank Christ they haven't moved the GP ! Hullo ? Can you hear me, Ezpeleta ??

And it did. Dunno how many times I've been there over the years, when the weather's been crapola, only for it to miraculously fine up just before the main race(s). That joint's magic !!

The whole event was better IMO. It is more relaxed, you can ride your bike around the outside of the track and park where you like, you can also walk pit lane. The racing was closer aswell and they race twice, not once like the moto gp. Saying that you wont be dissapointed with the moto gp. I'll probably go to that aswell this yer
