It's great, to me the GP had seemed lacklustre for some reason over the last few years. I realised today it was because I wasn't cheering against anyone back then. Every good story needs a villain.
What is best in life? Troll the forums, see the threads derailed before you and hear the lamentations of the moderators.

I didn't expect them to get the chain back on. Wonder how they managed that as I assume there were no tools to hand. Must have been fairly loose.
That was funny, though didn't see how they ended up getting it back on as the coverage cut away and when it came back he was mobile again

was looking at him riding down the road and thought there was a bunch of leaves on the track, only to realise it was his flag...
liked the low key celebration too, not as showy or silly as some of them.

i think the commentators *assumed* the chain came off. I think the flag just got stuck in the sprocket so they just reversed the bike to unwind it.
Have a look about 1:30 in as he comes to a stop. To my eye the chain is definitely hanging loose below the sprocket.

nah the top of the chain is under tension so the bottom hangs really loose so it looks like its off...just roll it back and the chain's still on the sprocket
to get it back on the sprocket with no tools in a rush while the bike is still on or in gear would probably end it fingers coming off.

Spies tries to be nice and civil, being next years team mate, gets ignored by the boy!

haha just lookin at that clip and at about 307 lorenzo goes to climb on the top step and then remembers that he aint the champion today!

He's not my favourite rider but he won a world championship at 23.
In my book, he's a legend, and a pretty nice guy.
Judging him on 'theatre' is a bit poor.
And whilst I recognise some level of humour in your picture, hoping that you see that aint cool either.
As CitD said though, winning and being, are two very different things. Good luck to him.

Like you, I respect what the guy can do, he's definitely going to be a major force in the sport, but the imitative nature and participation in his own celebrations is, I can't help but feel, a little vulgar. The opening commentary to Baseketball comes to mind.
If he could put his unique stamp on his racing success rather than coming out as a Rossi 2.0 I think he'd get a bit more support. Rossi's been a fantastic champion and great statesman for the sport, he's had his lesser moments like everyone does, but overall has been a champion most fans support even if they're cheering on another team/rider/brand. Lorenzo's shenanigans almost seem disrespectful of Rossi's part in the sport.
It just doesn't sit right with me.
To put it into perspective, a week ago I was standing on my coffee table screaming at the TV egging Hayden on. Something I thought I'd never do before the Winter Olympics in Hell.
