    Japanese MotoGP is going ahead

Despite Casey Stoner's objections, MotoGP will race in Japan in October.

Stoner, Lorenzo and a few others said they wouldn't go - but MotoGP is going with or without them.

Personally, I think this is the right decision, and I'm confident that the tests have shown it's not a great concern. I know I would go given the chance.

Do you think Stoner would be dirty if Lorenzo showed up at the last minute to race or vice versa?

Great! If there are any issues, like maybe a 9.5 earthquake, the motoGP paddock could be stuck in Japan.

I'll be righteously pissed if they miss Phillip Island if such a disaster was to occur.

Anyway, lets be positive as I like the Motegi curcuit.

I find if encouraging that Lorenzo supports Casey's thoughts on this, they seem to have mutual respect for one another, but maybe they've struck a new found friendship? (Lorenzo might have the hots for Mrs Stoner, you know, the old back door routine )

they all have "We support Japan" on their bike and leathers and yet none of them wants to go there when the country needs them most?
they already proved that the radiation is minimal and it's not likely for an earthquake happening anytime soon.

with the money involved especially coming from Japan like most of the Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Bridgestone i'm not surprised the race will happen regardless if the riders are there or not.

Risks are non existant compared to the ones they take in racing... wonder if they were trying to make some sort of misguided political comment re nuclear power?

Well if Stoner and Lorenzo boycott it, at least Rossi may have a chance at some points.

Maybe a second podium if enough people fall off.

The FIM published an official report on Tuesday, which admitted to "the presence of radioactivity contamination due to the Fukushima accident in the Motegi Twin Ring track areas," but also said that the likely radiation dose for all those attending the event over a one-week period could be "considered normal," and would be in line with major cities such as Rome and Madrid.
I read that as a definite for there being radioactive contamination but only the possibility that it's normal and the possibility that it's comparable to other cities.

Is this from the same gov't/country that gave the radiation readings 100x less than they were, or something like that?

I'd be erring on the side of caution in this case and not go. Too much risk of not being told the truth.
