LATEST motogp comments and results **SPOILERS**
Congrats to you Rossi, it was a fantastic battle and a well deserved win for him, Would have been better to see Stoner win but that's racing for you, You don't become a multiple championship winner out of luck and Rossi proved that tonight.

Those first laps were crazy. I thought oh shit this is going to end in tears especially when Rossi left the tack on the corkscrew, talk about elbow to elbow.

Valentino Rossi – Racewinner`For me it has been fantastic. It´s the first time that I´ve been able to win here, and it was an unbelievable race. The crew made some modifications and I was able to take a much better pace. I had a good start, then a great battle with Casey, which was a lot of fun. It´s an important victory –very emotional- and now in the summer break we will relax, because the championship is so long.´
Casey Stoner – Second Placed`The mistake I made past halfway was mine; I ran a little wide and lost the front on the turn as I tried to get back on track. It was race over after that. I enjoyed a lot of the race, but I felt that some of the passes a bit too much for me. I´ve been racing for a lot of years and have come through a lot of different ranks, and for me just a couple of passes were a little too much. I would have liked to have had a little bit of a cleaner battle, but anyway we are happy with the result. We´re still at the front of the championship and not too far off.´
Chris Vermeulen – Third Placed `It was difficult starting from the third row, and these guys got away early. I had a bit of a battle with Hayden and Dovizioso for a few laps, and once we got past them then we had more pace than everyone else. These two were too quick for us today. To be back on the podium in the dry proves that Suzuki are improving, and I´m looking forward to Brno now.´

FKN great race. I'm a little on Stoner's side when he said some of the passing was 'too much', but that's racing, and it was awesome to watch. In those 1st 5-6 laps I was thinking, this is what racing used to be! Brilliant to watch.
Rossi's form came out by holding Stoner off and forcing a couple of errors. Stoner showed that he could pass him, but had a little bit of brain fade. Some more patience could have seen a 10pt swing in the other direction.
Should be a great end of season.

Man, I'm a huge Casey fan, and not much of a Rossi one, but I got to admit.
Man the fuck up Casey!

That was a brilliant race, so entertaning to watch. How Rossi managed to keep it upright after cutting the corner on the corkscrew I will never know.
Sorry Casey, you got beaten by a better and more determined rider. I didn't see Rossi do anything that was unfair.

Casey will be fine. He got a pat on the back by Tom Cruise after all.
I hear his team have also secured a new sponsor for the second half of the season:

Big Casey fan that I am he did himself no favors with those comments, he needs to treat Rossi the same as he gets treated. That being said Rossi may have problem trying to block all the time in the remainder of the races.

Rossi rode a perfect race as far as Stoner goes.
Welcome to the big time Stoner.
But some of those overtaking manouvers (from Stoner as well) had me sucking in breath and saying 'oooooh faaaaark'. But punctuated with "shit hot!" Great dog fighting.
Could have been a great finish.

Some of the passing was a bit over the top, I mean casey was trying to lean on Rossi with an outside pass on a few occasions. Casey seemed quite happy stuffing it up the inside at warp speed but didn't like the next pass. nice riding but suck it up Princess and move forward.
I thought Casey was going to crash going through Rainey corner for any of the first 10 laps.
Great Ride by Vermeulen to take third.

Bloody top race! Rossi outrode Casey today and deserved the win. Was a shame to see Casey lose his concentration and run off....would have been even more awesome to see them battle it out to the very end. As for Caseys comment.....yeah...you have to take the wins as well as the losses.

Rossi did say the only way he was going to win was to have a 30 sec head start or to shot Stoner..
If Stoner had overcooked that corner in mid race.. Rossi would have needed the 30secs..
I have watched Rossi for the past 4 odd years, and it isn't new to see him play a little dirty when its not going his way..
In fairness.. he did send out the warning..
I'm backing Stoner on this one though..
But it is premium level professional sports, not Sunday-morning-hit-&-giggle-with-a-beer-in-hand.
