That was an epic race, gratz to podium boys.
I can't believe how quick those guys can ride in the wet. I thought it would have seen many many people come off, but they really know how to ride, good stuff

Well news just in;
Pedrosa likely to be operated on one of his hands and cannot ,if operated on due to serious damage, take part in the USA GP!
Should be able to take part in the Tjech GP after the break.
Bad news for Pett.

Ohh jbuzz it must be regarded as a spoiler !

Glad it was kevin magee (think thats him ) off the foxsports commentry team that said a race or two ago that ducati had sorted the electronics / traction control on stoners bike and not me

And still no-one can ride it like Casey Stoner. Yep the electronics are sorted, but they only let Stoner have the updates.

Well, for the first 4 laps, pedro was beating him by almost 2 seconds per lap?

Yes he fucked up, but still...

Not to take anything away from it, awesome effort congrats to him.

Never did say it was only the bike. Its the package. Last year the package was good. Now, the package is good. See the races before the last 3 (or most of last season in Rossi's case) for an example of what happens to a good rider when the package does not work.

Yes but to finish first . First you must finish , or something like that .
Stoner rode a great race and answerd everything Rossi threw at him .

Stoner ,Rossi and Pedrosa all showed there class i thought , considering what the stakes are at the moment in the championship and what there was to lose in those conditions , they gave it 110% .
Pedrosa should'"ve backed off 5% maybe

^^Pedro reckond he was cruising and it all felt good before the crash.

`It was a little strange. I had only just touched the brake and I crashed. It was a real pity because I´d got a great start and was going well. I had a good feeling. The front felt perfect, the rear was sliding just a little, but the general feeling was good considering the track conditions. It is a real pity, ´ said the rider himself..

but it could all change back to Rossi n lorenzo
with Yamaha getting a new "electronic" package....

Yeah just to clarify above, i was giving congrats to stoner, not pedro

Yeah, you have to finish to be first... but god damn... the pace pedro was setting early on was insane.

He's never been good in the wet either, which made it all the more surprising.

At Mugelo Gibernau recorded a best time of 1´50.5 on board the GP8 on race tyres, just a few tenths off this year´s race record at Mugello set by Casey Stoner.

True he was winning by a fair margin, dosen't count for jack at the end of the season if he doesn't win though does it. The package obviously is ok, not really good as the other competent riders can't do any good on the same package.

Wow! third Kawasaki bike confirmed for Leguna Seca. However unlike last year where Hayden Junior rode it as a one-off, this will be for the rest of the season, with Marco Melandri on board!

Sete joins Casey at Ducati for the rest of this season and Hayden looks certain to take the seat in 09.

No talk about a replacement for Hayden at Repsol Honda (but Dovizioso seems a likely choice given that he fits the Pedrobot mould a lot more than Hayden)

Also, looks like Guintoli and Elias will be out on their ears and riders being considered for the satellite rides include Bautista and Ben Spies.

with just an ok package that would make Pedro a Great rider..

everyone's quick to hail stoner a legend for riding the duke better than melandri and capriossi
The same should be said for the little loved Spaniard...
who like casey if he gets in front is hard if not impossible to catch...

^^ yeah much as i have hated pedrosa in the past its mostly for his attitude.
(yes, i was one of those at the vic park hotel who cheered when he went down, even though i'm betting on him for the championship -- was more of a "well that's more like it!" cheer than wishing harm on teh guy tho )

the little bastard certainly has a lot of talent - and he's won a lot of respect from me.

i was quite shocked at his pace in the rain though. i know he can't ride in the rain, so to pull out that lead that early... wtf.

if he's learning/learned to ride in the rain (and the off was just part of the learning process) then watch out. he seems to have matured a lot in the last couple of years as far as consistency goes, and hasn't taken out his team mate for a while....

I reckon his weak points at the moment are wet weather (i seriously expected him to finish around 10th-12th when i learned it was a wet race) and one on one battles.

If he can get the wet sorted out, well.. he's often got the pace to qualify up front and just fuck off...

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Pedrosa and the way he goes about his racing. It was obvious he was pushing too hard though considering he usually dosen't ride well in the rain. I'd love for it to come down to the wire with him and Casey (obviously Casey winning). Pedrosa just has to fight a bit more with the one on ones, get a bit better in the rain and not be afraid of Rossi.
