    MotoGP Sepang Test - Jan/Feb 2012

So the first test of the year was a little delayed, but has apparently now started:
Damp track means delayed start to 2012 | MotoGP News | Jan 2012 | Crash.Net

but nothing yet on motogp.com as far as i can tell. no live timing or video.

anyone got a different link for live timing updates?

    cheers Ken.

yep, still a few secs off the 800's pace by the looks of things, so not too much to guage from it yet.

I read somewhere that Lorenzo's time was 0.2 slower than 2010 pole time. They will get quicker tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Apparently Stoner hurt his back in the warmup and withdrew from testing?
Where did this (one) time of his come from?

It was set by the test rider on his bike, timing screens named wrong rider.

Session 2 on now - motogp.com with live timing.

Spies, Lorenzo then Stoner are setting the pace. Hayden seems to be getting the Ducati working now, up there with Vali.

A Repsol Honda spokesperson told Crash.net: “Casey is not testing. He pulled his back this morning when he was warming up here at the track. His back just locked up.

“He has been having some massage and anti-inflammatory pills and we will see for tomorrow. At least there are still two days.

“Akiyoshi, the factory test rider, did four laps on Casey's bike [which is why Stoner's name appears on the timing screens] and he also did the first ten laps on Dani [Pedrosa's] bike.”

As of 3:30pm, Factory Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies (+0.050s) lead the timesheets, with Pedrosa third (+0.129s) and Ducati's Valentino Rossi fourth (+0.418s).

Tuesday should have marked the first time that Stoner rode his new RC213V with the #1 plate.

1 day behind and Casey still slots straight into 3rd, and 0.4 sec in front of Dani... ominous form IMO - provided Rossi doesnt take him out...

Speaking of which - the Ducati is still a bit off the pace but much closer to the front than they were previously (timewise)

Ducati are doing well with a bike that is effectively two days old... i'm hoping for some tight paint-swapping MotoGP action this year.

I also got a chuckle the 1st time I logged on and saw that Casey had finished up fastest after not ridden on the 1st day.
Good Luck to the rest of the field I say.
