My advice, forget the earplugs and ENJOY! If you don't camp, you miss half the adventure.

The extra price of the option you've gone for is well worth it, too. Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, hot tea/coffee all day, drinks, curcuit TV show, live footage, etc. And if the usual Victorian weather is playing havoc (sun, rain, wind, hail, sun, etc) then it's good to get inside.
Yep, that is what we were figuring, no sleep hey, and they told me the HS was the quiet area with families camping etc. I am just gonna lap the whole lot up, will look for yours and Millsys efforts, which way do I look from where or is the evidence evident my dear Watson

Like Etholred said, do both... If I had to choose I would just do both.

Doug, Doug who?????

Oh, he is that other person that is gonna be travelling with me. We are riding/driving over. Leaving from Kal after the weekend before cause he is supposed to do some MotoX there. So We will have three bikes in the trailer and the Ute. Will probably leave the Dirty in Kal at one of his mates and go on from there, leaving us about 5 days to make the trek, easy ride/drive. So if anyone wants to hook up in Kal and leave from there, convoy style, probably on the Sunday or Monday drop me a PM.

Cal

How much does it cost to Camp?

Was thinking of shiping bikes to Vic under the guise of work parts then riding up the coast.

I think it was $99 for the 4 nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun).

Trackside is bike only, so you don't have to worry about cars doing burnouts and running you over, only bikes. There's also less distance to crawl from the entertainment, though they have kinda fucked the Trackside camping by building that go cart track there. I couldn't believe how much it had changed since '03.
It is good to see them doing some work, though.

Fans advised to book Phillip Island tickets early
Monday, 16 June 2008

Organisers of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island are advising fans to book early.

Casey Stoner´s MotoGP World Championship win in 2007 has created unprecedented interest in the 2008 Australian Grand Prix, with tickets being snapped up rapidly by committed fans eager not to miss out on the action at Phillip Island from 3rd-5th October.

The strong early ticket sales come hot on the heels of a record year for the Australian leg of the MotoGP World Championship last year, with more than 115,000 flocking to Phillip Island in 2007 – an increase of 23 per cent on the 2006 crowd.

`The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is in great shape and remains one of the country´s flagship regional events,´ said Drew Ward, CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. `For the first time in a decade we´ve got an Aussie World Champion and two other Australians in the competition. Chris Vermeulen finished last year in sixth place and Anthony West secured a full-time ride with Kawasaki.´

`All this has set the stage for an awesome year of racing and local fans are saying they can´t wait to be a part of it. Phillip Island can´t really sell out because of the large general admission areas around the circuit but there is a limit to our VIP hospitality and the number of grandstand seats we can offer,´ said Mr Ward.

`So while we can promise everyone a place in general admission,´ continued the Australian boss, `We advise people who want VIP hospitality or grandstand places to book early. Last year we had a record crowd and a fantastic weekend with Australia´s new World Champion winning the event. We´re anticipating another big crowd this year

The crowds wont be any where near as big as last year. If Casey was on top atm, then there'd be a large turnout.
All the blow ins will probably sit this one out.

Looks like we (or maybe just husband) will be going for the weekend - he is having to see a specialist doctor in Melb and the insurance co will reimburse his expenses. Flukey bastard. But we go to Bali the following weekend so I don't know if I need more holiday expenses. I'll get GA tickets as soon as booked flights I think.
