Sepang 2012

Hey guys,

W'ere heading to Sepang end of Jan for the 3 day MotoGP test session.

We usually stay in the Bukit Bintang area (and love it), however are thinking of Traders and I'm pretty sure some of you stayed there this year so..........

1) Is there a bit of bar life happening out that way (close to KLCC I believe).
Whats the hotel like?

If you have any info, would appreciate your feedback

Dinga we have stayed at the crowne plaza twice and this year at the Traders hotel. Either of these two hotels are great, my personal opinion The Crowne had the better pool and better meals area for breakfast, but The Traders rooftop pool/bar and view at night time is something else!

Traders is right on the doorstep of KLCC & probably a little closer than the Crowne (only by 5 mins walk) to the night spots, and yes there is plenty of bars and clubs around within walking/staggering distance. As far as shopping goes either hotel will have you emptying your wallet at Time Square, Farenheight or Pavillion within 7mins of leaving the lobby. The Crowne has a monorail station right out the front of it, which is handy if you want to be jumping on that down to china town for some bargain shopping.

It would be a hard choice between the two, both are fantastic hotels and i would be happy to stay at either of them again, if push come to shove for me, i would pick the Crowne Plaza simply because of the pool, that you can lay around and get some sun (whereas Traders lacked that a little) and i think the breakfast was better at the Crowne as well as the surroundings where you eat.

Pretty sure both were around the same price, about AU $100.00 twin share per night, and both fantastic hotels.

Thanks Rizzo, sounds good. We stayed at the Royal Chulan that had a special on last year and the hotel was fantastic, but we look around at specials hence my question on Traders. We are certainly intending on having a bit of time by the pool this time as we always end up out all day spending hard earned :-)

I think I found the information on the MotoGP site Shan, there are two sessions planned one for 3 days starting 31 Jan and one for 3 days starting 28 Feb. Me and the missus will probably be there from the Sun round until the following Sun.

Cool cool Dinga, by the way when i said about $100.00 twin share per night, I did mean that was per person too mate. Both the hotels included breakfast (but i think thats pretty standard these days) However when we stayed at the Traders, we booked into the Traders Club rooms which also gave us free beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and food for 2 hours every evening. I only went for free drinks on one occasion while we were there (too much other shit going on) but it's worth consideration anyway mate.

We went to the 2011 Sepang MotoGP and we are heading back for the 2012 race.
We stayed at the Prince Hotel and Residences, across the road from the Pavilion shopping centre.
Rooms were nice, 5 star single bedroom apartments and what we have booked for 2012 is about $1200 for 8 nights and 2 people.
