    Sepang Inf needed.

    hi guys,
i was pointed in your direction by a friend who said alot of Western Australians travell to Sepang for the MotoGp.
Im leaving for KL on Wed and im looking at catching some bike action while im there.
i have noticed the other thread but have not read it yet, but im just after some general info,
like best place to get tickets,
    best stand,
    travel to gp,
    other places to see,
I already know the food and alcohol are good and cheap.

    Any info would be great.

BY the way my name is Simon,
    I live in Brissy
and my only ride at the moment is my old girl,
    and she is a 2000 R1.

    Cheers.

Hi Chief (always wanted to say that)

Not meaning to be rude but perhaps you should read the thread before asking for help. I understand there is what may seem to be many pages of excited school kids rambling crap and making personal jokes about one another but in amoungst it all you should find some info you are after.

Right, the big ass party. It's too much to ask one person to orgynise and book everything, so here's the plan.

    1. We're looking into hotels right now. We've done the Crowne Plaza twice. Happy to go back as the location is ideal but we're looking for a change of decor :)
    2. We'll bag flights as soon as they're on spesh. Target is fly out Thu 20th Oct, back Monday 24th (or for those who want to possibly on to somewhere chillin' for a few days).
    3. Get small groups together, then the group leaders can liaise. Nat I'm talking about you for the girls. Travel in pairs or groups to make it easy and economical for taxis, and always have a drinking and/or travel buddy.
    4. Get tickets at the track. Everyone wants different access and days, and they're cheap enough on the spot.
    5. PARTY. MUCH.

Happy to share hotel and flight deets once they're figured out, or, share your own plans here. PSB is a socialist state, ain't no-one in charge and I'm not sticking my hand up to be responsible for anything. Except maybe some massively drunken karaoke

See you all in KL ;)

We've booked Club Rooms (free afternoon cocktails bitches!!) at Traders in KL. Just for a change of scene and all. Plus Sky Bar is on the roof, what could possibly go wrong? For a great price try Agoda Traders Hotel by Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Malaysia - Best discount hotel rates

Club rooms inc brekky with a 15% early bird discount = about US$170/night (exchange rate fluctuates) + charges = US$200 / 2 guests = US$100/night each. So there you go. The partay will be on the 25th-29th floor of Traders Hotel KLCC for five nights from Wed 19th Oct 2011!!!!!

    Flights
Fuck me that was unnecessarily difficult. As someone who builds websites, Air Asia get nil points for usability, systems integration and CRM. Dicks. Anywho, after a painful hour or two we go Wed 19th Oct 6.50am return Mon 24th Oct 23.50am. Best part of $392 when you add in baggage, choose a seat, meal and taxes.

    DO EEEEEEET.

Thanks for doing the Accommodation research and booking Nickerz. I will PM the peeps we have booked for with my Bank Det's in a few days time to get the $$$ sorted.

Nat, please give me a call if you need a hand with getting the girls group sorted.

All 8 people today have confirmed they are booking flights. Looks like once again we will get away with all 5 nights at 5 star Accommodation and Flights cheap as. This year its around. $880.

Sorry we could not book for everyone. Last year with 14 people it go a little out of control. Smaller groups this year is the go.

Weds - AM fly, check in, find new bars and essential shopping (SIM cards etc). PM get massively drunk
Thu - AM recover, eat, PM shop @ Pavillion/KLCC, drink and nice meal. Then more drink
Fri - AM Sunway lagoon Wild Wild West, World of Adventure at Amusement Park, Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia. For those who want to track - practice. Late PM get massively drunk/karaoke/clubbing
Sat - AM recover, chill. For those who want to track - qualifying. PM casino @ Genting Genting Highlands travel guide - Wikitravel. Late PM drink and hawker food in BB, Ducati street party near beach club
Sun - AM I think there's a race on or some shit. Late PM get massively drunk
Mon - AM recover, fly remaining helicopters from roof, check out quick sharp. PM shop, fly home
Tue - write that one off completely

In answer to some of your other specific questions
Best Stands and Where to buy tickets. - The track is huge and has a much bigger capacity than the numbers that attend. Tickets are purchased at the door and with the exception of the pits and the K1 stand at turn 1 the general admission ticket is pretty much access all areas. The K1 is really no better than the stand on the final corner and the main and back straights that you get in your general admission ticket. Tickets are about $40 Australian for 3 days or something ridiculous if you want to go all out I think its about an extra $15 or so to upgrade and get the K1 grandstand aswell.

Travel for small groups is best by Taxi. There are heaps of them and compared to Aussie Taxi's they are cheap as.
Lots of places to see and things to do. Depends on what is your thing. It is a massive city. Just follow your nose or otherwise look at the post above from Nickerz for some idea's.
The food is great. Alcohol is one of the few things that are not cheap. Nearly the same price as Australia.
The same with shopping most things are fairly cheap with the exception of electronics which is also about the same price as Aus.

Hope this helps you out. Enjoy your trip.

Oh yes one other thing. If you see about 40 odd drunken bums with Aussie accents having a stupid amount of fun it will not be us :)

Can also get bus to track - Public Transportation | Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia
Or taxi through the same people, though maybe just easier to find a taxi outside your hotel and hire them to drop off/pick up - Public Transportation | Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia
