Silverstone motoGP 2013
I'm heading Silverstone for the motoGP next year.
Does anyone know the best way to get to Silverstone from Northampton?

It's only 15 miles according to Google Maps, so there may well be a bus shuttling there. Parking at the venue and traffic access from all directions has ALWAYS been woeful though, so don't grab a taxi as you'll be paying to be parked up as pedestrians stream past you...

I went this year, I stayed near Leicester and motored down the M1 at 6.30am, got into carpark and into Silverstone by 8.30.... no real jam just a 10 min wait getting into the fields, luckily it was a dry day and the fields were firm, unlike the G.P. which was a washout on the Sat and they advised people to turn back due to parking under water.
I didn't see where the bikes were parked but sure there would be hardstanding if your taking two wheels... Pretty sure shuttle buses will run to track too. Once in track use buses to shuttle around, it's a big track!! Not the best viewing because so flat and huge run off areas for the car G.Ps but still a great day out to see !!! Enjoy !

Thanks Glenn and Haggis. I've found out from Stagecoach bus service that they run a shuttle to Silverstone from Northampton for the MotoGP. Should be a good trip, the week before I'll be at the IOMTT with a couple of mates.
