Well written and very true. If it was, as claimed, simply that the Ducati was superior then we would see Melandri and Elias on the podium. Not so!!

Stoner is so far ahead of the pack his dominance can only be compared to Doohan at his best. Can't wait for Stoner to mature and reach his peak!! We have yet to see more of his talent.

its so NOT the bike, its all RIDER, if it was the bike all the ducatis would be doing well.
Go Stoner, he is a true world champion.

Stoner suits teh bike, the other ducati riders don't. If stoner is such a cut above the rest, put him on the kawasaki and see how he fares

There's good riders on good machines and good riders on not so good machines, Stoner could be competitive on a lesser bike but then he'd be trading blows with Vermeulen instead of Rossi

I think we've done the whole "it's just the bike" thing to death here on PSB .......pretty safe to say that if you think it's only the bike then IMO you know nothing about racing or riding !

The boy is a champion with a shedload of talent and potential ! in 10 years time he would of outstripped Rossi as far as winning world championships is concerned !!

`To stop Stoner, you´d have to shoot him,´ said Rossi when asked by Spanish television channel TVE as to how he could beat the Ducati Marlboro man in Sunday´s race.

Rossi: `To stop Stoner, you´d have to shoot him´ | The Official MotoGP Website

Says it all really

And he was always a front runner on Tex's bike Except of course when he binned it.

Which was more often than not !!

But I think he just couldn't handle the power of the Honda ....now that he's gone to a timid rider friendly Ducati he seems to be doing fine !! maybe when he get's a few hairs on his chest he'll be able to handle a more powerful bike !!

If I remember Stoner actually eluded to the fact Honda compromised his bikes stating that on the occasion his bike would come back from Honda with handling problems that weren't there before. His bike wasn't a factory ride but he did get some factory 'support'. He chose his words very carefully when he described the 'support' given him by the Japanese factory. Honda sux.

Isn't the Duc a sceamer engine and harder to control than the Honda?

No he didn't - he just rode a lot closer to the edge and more agressive - like he did with Gibernau some time ago - FWIW I think Rossi got close to overstepping the mark a couple of times.

If you remember correctly he physically bounced Sete off the track because he was out of control, rubbing is racing but Rossi went too far that day and lost alot of respect. When things don't go his way he whinges just as much as the next person.
