Chris Vermeulen has been ruled out of the opening round of the World Superbike championship after failing to pass fitness tests with Kawasaki.

Chris Vermeulen, who five months ago was completely immobilised has been unable to regain full fitness in his badly injured knee ahead of the February 27 round one of the World Superbike on Phillip Island.

just read this news, pretty disappointed for the guy. i suppose if it helps in the long run both on and off the track then it is the right decision.
