2009 Aust Sbk Promoter Announced

ifted this from the Ausco website.
hope terry doesnt mind.

looks like WA is back on the calender.

Konsky Gets the Nod From MA For ASC In 2009

It's offical MA have announced that they have chosen Yarrive Konsky to be the new promoter of the Australian Superbike Championship in 2009. The earlier much touted duo of Mladin and Spence failed to impress the selectors in the end with what rumoured as a less then impressive presentation.
MA have said they will now enter a period where they will finalise the financial agreements with Konsky to take over the running of the ASC. It is not known if Konsky will give up his role as Honda Factory Motocross Team manager / owner or whether he will retain both roles as well as promote off road race meetings around the country.
Konsky said at last weekends ASC round that he plans to run the ASC over two days not the existing three and also intends to make the WSBK and MotoGP support races rounds of the ASC in 2009. When asked how he would run the ASC over two days he said he would more then likely cut a number of classes for 2009.
It is not known which classes he intends to cut to squeeze into the tight track time available. However AUSCO had already announced that its Formula Xtreme owned classes would no longer be involved in the ASC for 2009. This leaves a number of big holes in the available classes for the 2009 series. Konsky had said he was looking at a 1000 Superstock class maybe for next year.

It was also reported that it was a requirement of getting the ASC that the series would return to WA in 2009. Konsky said he wanted to run a round each on alternating years between WA and the Nortern Territory.
It is believed the series will be run over eight or nine rounds in 2009. It is not known if the MotoGp or the WSBK potential rounds are included in the eight or nine rounds.
Konsky also commented that he would have TV coverage in 2009 with the premier Superbike class receiving a half hour show for each round.
There were all sorts of rumours doing the rounds at Symmons Plains including the one that the Superbike class would also run with the V8 Supercars in 2009 but this was not confirmed.
Terry O'Neill on behalf of AUSCO would like to wish Yarrive Konsky all the best in 2009 with the ASC.
