i like photo's like that, gives you a sense of speed rather that freezeframing it all.

Great pics alright, not easy getting the rider in full focus while panning.

The guy with the big Canon prime is probably Vick Soulious, unless Hewie was there with his of course?? Stirls does a fantastic job with his 120-400 lens tho

Are you using a 7D? What do you think of it (and compared to what you used previously)? Was that you behind the fence at turn 7 for the last few races? Looked like a 70-200 lens?

Yeah I was using a 7D, I think it's a very good camera, definitely a step up from the 30D I had before. I find the AF very quick, that and the 8fps is perfect for sports.

Yeah that was me behind the fence, I was using a 300 F4L IS all day, I would of been where you guys were except the 300mm + 1.6x crop factor was far too long, even from where I was standing

Bike is alright, a few minor things but not too fussed - I'm taking the opportunity to pack it full of more good things

Give me a call about tyres if you need some, not sure if I have any at the moment, the last couple of sets I've used for 3 days and killed them

Oh yeah, I was the guy behind the fence with the wannabe camera. My Dad was next to me, there was also another guy with the same setup as mine
I also forgot to mention Vick was there with his awe inspiring length and girth

Esemte, thats a nice setup you've got there.

Mmmm nice set up! Now I know why you were up on the wall at turn 4!

I was using a 400mm with a 1.5 x crop at turn 7, I reckon its too short when shooting right into the turn.

Hey Steve, nah bike is straight and cases undamaged. Only things I need are some bearings for the rearset which Rob has offered to help me out with, and a front brake which I will grab from a wreckers. Rest is just scuffed fairings. Putting some go faster bits in it though, just sent an order to the US.

I've sent my number to you in a private message for future use, I know you don't come on here that often haha

that really was a lucky escape nigel, glad it turned out well and the bikes not too bad. even from the sidelines, it was a great day, especially seing mason (#53) doin so well. PB is now 61.6 for him. two out of three holeshots aswell, and we both know his starts can be even faster.
