Motorcycling Australia (MA) can announce that Phillip Island Operations have been appointed promoter of the 2011 Australian Endurance Championship to be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 2-4 December.
The Championship will be undertaken in a six hour format with further information regarding the event to be released by Phillip Island Operations shortly.
Following the announcement of this appointment MA’s CEO David White has released the following statement regarding the Championship:
In 2010 we saw the return of Endurance racing to Australia to great success with promoter James Spence managing the event.
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, it has become necessary for MA to appoint a new promoter for this Australian Championship in 2011.
On behalf of MA I would like to thank Mr Spence for his efforts and contribution to motorcycle sport.
Looking ahead to the 2011 event, I am confident Phillip Island Operations will provide the same high standard of organisation and promotion to the Championship, as they do to the other major events on their calendar.
As such I very much look forward to seeing the event unfold on 2-4 December.
