I'm starting to like this corner more...BUT everytime i go into it halfway through the corner i realise "fuck i could have gone SO much faster into this".

Had an intense run through there on Sunday when i was going for my race licence. Me and the 3 coaches we 4 abreast going into there...holding the corner RIGHT next to each other it was an awesome feeling.

yagadan : get the book twist of the wrist 2 it tells you how to overcome mental "barriers" and helps you pick up the corner speed

Now add to that the intensity of competiton and the adrenalin of fighting for a position, that is why we do it.......

Get your bike sorted and come on out. It'll be good to have one more on the grid.

You weren't going slow when you put down that 63s lap Bill.

Plus, slowly round is better than warp speed into the kitty litter.

    Quicksand heh, you're telling me.

Took myself, the ambulance crew, and the recovery crew to get my bike out on Sunday, it was buried up to the RAM air intakes. Total man hours removing sand from it so far is close to 10 hours.

You are progressing really fast Bill. I'm super impressed with your riding compared to just 6 months ago.

No if you could just get a handle on puntuation...... your posts nearly give me a stroke.

Thought I'd bump this thread because thinking about binning my R1 awhile ago where I tucked the front I'm still pretty nervous through there and wanting to learn from my ( costly ) mistake I thought I'd get expert advice on how to avoid it but I'm leaning heavily towards the fact I wasn't focusing on the basics and my line just wasn't right. I remember the laps before I could really feel the g force pulling me off the bike when you hit that 'dip' I'm guessing at the apex, however when I crashed looking back I remember the black mark from my tyre looked sorta like this.

Judging from the photo it looks like right about where the front starts sliding the track flattens out and you lose that nice camber, coupled with the fact it's probably the point at which the front is at the most load and probably a host of other things like subpar body positioning = slidey front.

Does this sound about right? or maybe it was just the one that got away

set up of suspension is critical, over or understeer, and with heat both in weather and components, this is a changing factor as you circle arround + plus the tyres as well.
How you ride it makes a BIG difference in what the bike is doing.
The basin at arround the apex drain is capable of bottoming out suspensions as well
Viscosity of damping oil varies with temp.

it looks like where you would be getting back on the power on a 1000, if your rebound on the forks is too hard then it unloads the front and down you go....
