Cam Keevers in Queensland
Hi once again for a quick report from Queensland.
After having mostly recovered from his off at Mallala, Cam couldn`t wait to get into a good rythm again. Free practice went well and he was in good spirits about qualifying and the races. Qualifying brought some problems with the set up, but he still managed a respectable 12th position for the racing.
Race one was a sketchy affair, when he ran off, but rejoined to finish in 15th position. Race two didn`t go much better and Cam was taken out by an ambicious move by Nick Henderson. Fortunately there wasn`t too much damage to man and machine and Cam was able to compete in round five of the double header weekend, which took place on the following day.
It was not getting any better on sunday, where, in race one, he had to retire with enginge and gearshift problems, after running off several times. In race two, he had to start out of pitlane, because the pitbay the team was in had no pa system and they couldn`t hear the announcement for the pitlane being open. Bad luck, but even starting out of pitlane, he still managed a great 11th placing.
All in all a pretty demoralising weekend, but it`s the hard times you learn from and now it is all foreward to get back on track and improve from here. Cam would like to thank all of the people who concistently ask about his progress! Thank you all!
