Question couple questions about race licence renewal, and aftermarket wheels

First, anyone know if you can renew an expired race licence on day of race. Its looking like the first day back at barbs after the works may be for a race round, which I wanna enter... Last racecraft is on 20th, and fairings/tank still out for paint...

Second, anyone used any of the ebay import wheels in anger at track? (eg Front Wheel Rim Triumph Daytona Triple 675 Black | eBay)
I realise wheel integrity is kinda important at speed, but 300 for a brand new wheel doesn't seem stupid cheap. Don't really wanna be first to test its reliability though.

ps. Wanted, intact front and rear wheels for a 675 and a spare engine, forks.. and whatever other shit people may have as spares

You need to have your race license with you during scrutineering..... Paying on the day will mean that your physical licence won't arrive from MA for another week or so...... Make sure it is paid at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Just ask Adam Chambers. He couldn't race 1 round this year for this reason (not having a current card to show scrutineers....)

In terms of the rims.... GCR's indicate you have to use OEM Rims in any of the classes you build your bike to. Having seen those rims on ebay, I didn't want to be the first to try the quality..... And I don't know how different they are to the OEM ones (could they be picked out?). You should be able to get a full set of rims (including discs, cush drive, sprocket carrier etc) for around $800-1000. I know that the triumph ones are pretty rare though. Possibly speak to Quattro750 here on PSB, as earlier in the year he had a spare set he was willing to part with...

I raced at one round this year without having my licence in my hand. Had to sign a stat dec that I had a valid licence, and pay a $50 penalty.

Then again, on the form in big bold letters it says that claiming your licence is in the post from MA isn't a valid excuse. So no idea how I got away with it
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Motorcycling Western Australia :: Leading Motorcycle Sport and Recreation give these guys a call, hopefully if it hasnt been expired too long they will renew it, you may have lost your number though, they only hold that for 2 weeks after expiry.

you will have to do the written test which is really a multiple choice questionaire. Be a financial member of a club and fill in the application form. Mine arrived in 5 days and it was renewed a few months a ago.

I was under the impression that it was still a simple renewal if it had expired less than 3 years ago?
