    Good Quality Track Farings/Suspension Setup

After my last outing to the track last year I ended up in the dirt at turn 5 and a rather battered bike.

The bike is back on the road and i am hanging to get back on the track but before I do I want to get some crash protection. I have allready got some crank/clutch protectors but I would like to get some track farings. I have done a search on track farings but I cant find any information on faring quality.

Would any of the racers/track days people arround here able to share their opinions on the most durable farings within Australia?

Also I am rather light can anyone recommend someone to tune my suspension for my weight?

I doubt any fairings can stand up to a crash... There is alot of forces going on there, heaps of abrasion etc. To save some of the damage you could look at a decent set of Oggy knobs, some large spools on the rear and some fork oggy's too - they should stop a large amount of the damage a bike receives in a crash, but not all of it.

As for brands of track fairings - From what I hear, profibre does some decent enough fairings for a pretty low price. There are also several different types available at Superbike Toy Store - Fast, Reliable Service and Great Prices - remember you will also want a matching screen and maybe some D-zeus fasteners to attach it.

As for Suspension setup - PM Marty moose , local suspension guru.

Armour bodies are mintox. I currently have profibre which are also mintox but my next will be armour bodies as they are more flexible and have a better fit.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

I picked up a set of zap fairings cheap that look & fit sweet
Auffit, my front fender is mirage sanding & spraying it tonight

Do you know what size springs are in there now? You'll want to change to ones that are rated for your weight so you can use the full travel, without bottoming out. Marty's great & has helped me out, but will point you towards Russ from Dynotime in wangara, if you want to change the internals.

Most bikes are set up for around 70kg std aren't they? 5kg either side of it should be alright with std springs (sometimes more...).

Yes but i'm fairly sure that as standard, the springs are progressive not linear. Linear making the valving better to work with

Depends how far you wanna take it mate. Marty can set ya sags up & put you in the right direction regarding compression, rebound etc. Depending on the condition of the bike, fork seals, know when the fork oil was last done? sorta stuff....springs are ~$200 with fork oil, seals are stuff all then you know everything's sweet & it's just you that's not going quick

Thanks for the advice. Even with leathers I am still arround 10kg off 70kg... Does this put me in the range where I should get new springs? I thought a few tweaks to the suspension would be ok but not something I am willing to play around with on my own.

The suspension is currently whatever came on a new cbr600rr in 2010

I know the farings won't do much but they definitely seem to come out better than standard abs plastics and I had heard some cheaper Track Farings were just as flimsy.
