    HELP..Front Fork Strapping/tying down on a Honda VFR800

Been down to woop-ass wednesday and thought about tying down the front forks.. Even bought a tie-down strap thing only to go WHAT THE... sitting on the bike a can see where to bolt it on to on the right side fork, but looking at the left side has a strange brake set up and i dont think this strap will work on the bike..DAMIT.. FOR SALE ... ONE TIE-DOWN STRAP FOR DRAG RACING USE.. $40.00.. not used.. So the only way around my prob that i can see is to loosen the bolts and side the forks up dropping the front end..??? Or is there a special strap for this model of bike?? Already have a lowering link for the rear..

There are two types of straps, one for radial and one for non radial. Got the right ones?

I had to space mine out at the caliper ends to fit them on the r6.

You can get tie-downs that secure the front wheel, rather than being tied down by the forks (I think they're called "tyre-downs") : you can make up a spacer to go between the front tyre and the guard beneath the lower fork yoke so you aren't squeezing down too hard against your forks : you could use rope to secure the front wheel up against the bak of your cab, or you could get hold of one of those roll-over-centre front wheel traps to secure the front end and screw it down into your ute....

Run the bike without trying to tie it down first ... It's probably not going to save you the tenths you're hoping for in all honesty.

nope too much go to keep the front wheel down off the line all it wants to do is wheelie, i want to go forward not up.. even with the ass dropped into the weeds (lowering link) still want to lift up.. or clutch slip (another story, to be fixed, soon i hope.)
