11.30am on a sunday morning is a good time to start racing
Mid to high 60's isnt a problem for clubman, had people start in clubby 600 before doing 72's, so if you are sub 70's now, give it a go.
Try HCMC for a gentle start to racing.
Hey Sean'o a few years back when Clubman 6 had nearly 50 on the grid, weren't the times out to 1'16"? I think I was dong 67's and was half way up the field...haven't improved really.
Additionally if you have already been signed off on your race license you are deemed as smooth safe and fast enough to go racing... When you line up on that grid for the first time it won't matter where you finish, you'll be grinning for the rest of the week.
The universe likes speed. Don't delay. Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act.

I grin till the next round. Then grin again![]()

Mate, don't worry about holding people up. Racing is about getting past other riders wherever you may be in the field, there is no better feeling than that.
The onus is on the faster guys to get past and that is how they hone their skills before moving up to the next level. Go for it, we all have to start somewhere.

You only get faster by riding with comparable machines doing slightly quicker than you.
Compared to trackriding, its a hoot as you are put into a allocated place that is representative of your pace.
Its a massive pump hunting for 15-17 km's, getting in front and getting a checkered flag.
You will be so stoked!!!!!

Do it!
Come to the club days (when the track finally opens again) and see how you fit in.
season 2012 is coming.....
Not yet numbered still to register but get organized when I get back in Perth.

Dear god, it's some weird bastardized three wheeled two person go-kart.
at the start of last season there was a mcrcwa club race day not part of the state series, good one to have a first crack at, nice and relaxed and everyone having fun also there was heaps of other first time racers there to have some fun with too.
as mentioned the hcmc guys are great for a start and with the good atmosphere, different tracks and the night race I also hope to get out with them more often.
Only advice is dont ride outside your comfort zone and try to go too fast too soon, your better off have a fun first season and not win anything than crash every second round.
Just have a crack, you wont regret it. The only problem you may have is filling time between races and forever wanting more money.

I have no idea why people say this, the HCMC was the most unorganised race day ive been to, is that the relaxed atmosphere everyone talks about? haha. As far as the racing goes, doesnt matter which club you run with first, they are pretty much the same guys anyway, you will get a newbie thinking he is stoner where ever you go. Just enter a race day, get out there, look after yourself and your lines and have fun.
