Hi all

I have been following some other forums and the word on the street, and it seems that there is new class orgainsed by mcrcwa?. The new class is to include dwindling numbers of 125 & 250cc gp together with twins up to 650cc.

Now it this twin side of racing that has my attention. First thing is the large number of 650 twins from different manufacturers that could race...

- Suzuki SV650

- Hyosung GT650

- Kawasaki ER650n

- Cagiva raptor 650

- Ducati Monster 620i

Then there is the cost of racing one of these machines, (guess lot depends on the rules and regulations) but it would be cheaper then running a superspot R6 or R1.

Plus if some of the local shops would put their weight behind series, like dale britton run hyosung gt's or mack 1 er650n's or vee two monster etc... plus six or seven privateers i think it would be a kick ass series i would pay to see.

but i do live on cloud nine. (or so i been told) <_<

what do you guy's and gal's think? Sink or swim?

I think you will find it is singles to 650cc.

You can get more info at www.mcrcwa.com.au

I did find this on mcnews.com http://www.mcnews.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=9429 ? did not hear about that one.

there is a quote on svdownunder forum that sounds promising...

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its looking pretty official now!
SVs allowed to race against 125, 250 and 400 bikes in a class similar to Formula 3 in New Zealand

Quote
Looks like the new class for 2006 in WA will be similar to the NZ one including 650's.

FInal details will be released shortly.

i was hoping someone would have some inside info though.

Ok this is off the MCRC newsletter

MCRCWA Formula two series

Four cylinder four stroke up to 450cc

Three cylinder four stroke up to 450cc

Twin cylinder two stroke up to 250cc (no 250cc GP bikes)

Twin cylinder four stroke up to 700cc

Single cylinder four stroke up to 700cc

Single cylinder two stroke up to 500cc

Apart from the size restrictions there's nothing out of the ordinary

Free tyre choice but must comply with GCR 5.5.9*

Hope this helps

My understanding would also see most of the motard guys in there as well with 125gp, 250 proody, 250gp, + sounds of singles.

Not sure tho

There was talk originally Rob of not letting the motard guys race in this class, only because of the different race lines and their incompatability with 125s and 250s, Well that was the disscussion on the open forum night held at mcrc last year,

But at least the motards should still be able to race at the Historics !

not at the historic....nor do they have anything with MCRCWA , they have their own races that have both dirt and a few smallish jumps and they run them up at waneroo go-kart track.
The historics will hold races for the motards when they are running short track

Ok so we have the motard summer series, the club championship (run in winter) histroics and now the MCRC. The bike is going to need a rebuild cause it has done so much work. Think the MCRC must of looked at the historics motard grid (20 bikes) and whent oh looky cash$$$ .

Dunno at the end of the day I'm riding a motard I'll compete in thier events first, short track wanaroo and possibly collie with the historics. MCRC especailly long track will be a long way down the list me thinks.

The intial problems with the historics was not so much the differnt lines it was more a wet track some of the motard guys are ex A grade motorcrossers trials speedway state champions and endruo types ie they can ride! Stick them in with some C&D graders who are a bit nervous about a wet track, can anyone say closure rate? Especailly on the entry of the corners.

There was a national single series back in the mid 90's was a great idea but people ruined it by spending mega dollars in the class. To attract more people they need to have more restricted classes that the average Joe blow can affort to race in. I can afford to buy a few year old supersport bike but am not foolish enough to even think I can keep tyres to it. I like the idea of a class for SV's ect but it would have to be well regulated. Not like the 250 proddy bikes where it was obvious people where cheating.

Are you going to name 'names'? is there any proof to your comment? I raced 250 proddies in 2004 and i would be most interested to know.

Oohh, controversy.

Quick question:

Does 'Proddy' = 'Production'?

Yeah, I'm a newbie...
I can't think what more you could possibly need to know... except maybe this:

It would be good to have affordable entry class with limited mods allowed.
Fast, cheap & reliable ... pick any two.
