Pirelli SCP too expensive what now?

OK you seasoned track fiends. Pirelli's wonderful Dragon Supercorsa pro is now a little bit over the top cost wise (three track days per rear and now $310 each)

what's every one doing now? what?where? how much?

q,
youre doing well, or have a very well set up trumpy to get three days out of a rear, any tyre that can handle that pace youre running at now is gonna cost you towards the $500 mark a set
sell a ducati or two, give up or dont do so many trackdays, unfortunately, going fast costs money!

You can get Dragons or Diablos for around $460 a set, see http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/foru...corsa-s-59518/.

You'd be up for frieght tho.

Give Craig @ Motorcycle Pitstop a bell as a few racers get their stuff from him, & his pricing is good for a local shop. His pricing on the Diablos is a lot more but the Dragons is about the same; Dragons were little hard to come by a coupla weeks a go.

Dragons are still hard to come by, i had to run bridgestone at rd3. Saw Craig last week and the Dragons were still not in, not sure if he is going to do the same price for everyone or just helping us that are racing out, cant hurt to ask, the dragons should be in sometime next week, although ive been hearing that for a few weeks.
try the bridgestones q, my first race on them they were perfect, couldnt say a bad thing about them, then the day fell apart, the rear started to slide a bit in the second, and the third race, well put it this way, coming out of the basin was shit loads of fun but slow, they wouldnt hook up at all. Everyone else is running great times on them though so i think just the extra torque of the triple was causing a bit of an issue in the rear end but im sure it could be sorted out with some fiddling with tire pressure and suspension. I was running them at 33psi hot off the track.

Turning them around can be an issue if your world ends, During the enquirery they will notice that the rear is on backwards and will ask who did it. So unless you change your own don't ask a shop. Also , do not use the front backwards, that would be bad.

Pirelli never used to not mark their rear slicks because they could go either way, but these days thats not the case.

We get good prices on Dunlop N-Tec's here. Quite a bit different as far as suspension setup goes but they are great and last.

I don't need any more stuff to clean to get past the inpection Nazis. I had my whole bike apart and cleaned it with brake cleaner. It's spotless. My parts guy here is trying to work out the best way to ship to Oz. I'm thinking import may eventually become a buisness for me. After seeing what you guys pay for parts, my head nearly blew up.

Thats funny

And very true. That is why so many of us now shop for parts & bling on US and occasionally UK websites. With our dollar the strongest its been against the greenback for years, you stand to save 30-40% on average for most goodies. Sometimes more, and that includes frieght! Sorry to the local suppliers but they don't have the stock half the time anyway.

Never had a problem with Customs or delivery, and that includes bits like fairings, radiator guards, slip-on pipes, mirrors, decals, lap timers so far.
