Na i'm pretty positive Shaun wasn't at the meeting. On ya mate, cheers for the massive effort![]()
I'm glad I can still make you laugh. Next time I'm home I'll let you know so if your doing any work at the track I can help out.
Hey guys, I was keen to do this on april 1, but after reading through all the rules, i dont think i can.
just bought an fz1s 2005, it has a bellypan, not sure if its accepted for racecraft though?
and i only own full kevlar jeans, no leather pants, but have a A* leather jacket (with back protector).
should I just be looking at doing trakdayz first?
i have no leathers because im going to have to go custom it seems.
Are you tall?? What size is your jacket?? Trackdayz allow kevlar jeans...
no, short legs big waist, knee pads end up on my shins.
It will be open. Think posative, we might just have to ride around the earth moving gear on pit straight , no big deal.
And guess who is doing his first ever g1 session should be interesting,
especialy since I am apparently "not agressive enough" to get a race licence. Could be very interesting.

CONGRATULATIONS widdle bunny!!! re: the "aggressive enough" if your coach told you that, perhaps hes too aggressive! Small steps first.
Maybe if you changed your name to " Im the fastest in the universe" or "speedy demon"
anyway, you are going to LOVE it! If need be, I will be with you on the first playing dogems with diggers and the like =)

Preparation according to the Ridedays WA website....
Preparation
Ridedays WA has tried hard to design the course so there is minimal preparation required:
RIDER: Full leathers or 2 piece leathers (must zip together) are required, helmet (full face), and leather boots that cover pants, wrist length gloves that cover sleeves. Back protectors are recommended.
A limited number of racing leathers can be hired at a cost of $100*, but prior booking is required. *$50 refunded if leathers returned undamaged.
BIKE: Supply your own. Although not necessary, it is best to trailer your bike to the track. This gives you the opportunity to prepare your bike before you arrive and if you do have any problems during the day, you will have a way of getting yourself and bike back home.
REMOVE or TAPE OVER
Remove or tape over all headlights, tail lights, indicators, number plates & Speedometer.
Remove or wire up centre stands and use side stand only.
Remove tape over or turn in rear view mirrors.
Tape or wire passenger pegs in closed position.
Remove luggage racks, gear sacks etc.
Tape & some tools provided by us.
FUEL: Top up your fuel tank close to the circuit (Wanneroo town site /Joondalup) and if you can, bring some spare fuel. Fuel is not available for sale at the circuit. Expect to use a full tank on the day. You’ll do approximately 200kms, usually flat out.
Check before you leave home: Oil levels, coolant levels, tyre pressure, lube and adjust your chain (not too tight!).
YOUR BIKE WILL be safety checked at the circuit and instructors will advise you on any further preparation required

Yeh I read that, I just dont understand why you have to wear leather pants, as kevlar seems acceptable elsewhere. I will get custom leathers eventually, but i wanted to do a few meets first to see if I enjoy it enough to warrent the purchase. And I wont be hiring leathers, thats disgusting, to be honest, for me and the person using them after me. Cleaned or not.
I was more concerned with the bike preperation, seems you need full fairings?
Or more specifically, CAN I RIDE AN FZ1? Because this part:
confuses me. Its not a very noob friendly explanation. All machines, including sidecars, must be fitted with an integral lower fairing dam or separate catch tray, which must be constructed:
"Of a material and capacity to trap and hold at least 3 litres, for 4 stroke machines and 2.5 litres for 2 stroke machines, for engine oil and engine coolant" in the event of the engine breakdown
with no less than two holes, each of 25mm, which may only be open in wet race conditions.
You can ride an FZ1, that other stuff is only if your racing
ok thanks.
I'm pretty sure Kevlar jeans are built for road speeds, not track speeds.. You wanna do track speeds right? It makes sense when a racing club is applying for insurance for the day - speculation on my part of course, but I think that they would have valid reservations in any case. Hiring is cheap safety.
I don't get how it's disgusting if they're clean though? Think single mother from Rockingham, wear an inner condom - Hell, add deep heat if it gets the job done right?

I'm not speaking for the club, and so you should probably check with them, but the last Rideday I helped out at I working on the start/finish line and we had several riders in group 1 come down in draggins/kevlar jeans. I questioned whether this was acceptable and was told it was ok for group 1. But you should probably give Denise a call.
They misunderestimated me.
