How does one get into taking their bike up to barbs? I wouldn't try until i get some decent leathers and find somewhere to learn the basics... like knee sliding.
Or does one rock up, watch everyone else for a while, say their prayers and hope they don't go sliding off the first corner?
Ah young grasshopper you have so much to learn. The "basics" aren't knee sliding - there's a helluva alot that comes before that.
And no ppl don't say their prayers as they enter the first corner - they shouldn't need to. An individual's common sense and attentive coaching should prevent that but hey if someone wants to go crayzee, by all means write yourself off in the first lap... that's gotta be the equivalent of a golden duck.
'praps roll up to watch first.

Haha... But seriously, I want to learn how to take a bike around a track, safely. So then one day i can ride a bike around barbs!
Sitting and watching is a good start. But what then? Who do i see? Where do i go? Who do people learn from?!?! I crave knowledge !!!
Cheers,
Max 'Grasshopper' Power
You learn to ride Barbs, at Barbs.
Go up tomorrow and watch.
As long as you are mature in your riding, go and enrol in a level 1 trakdayz - trakdayz.com.au. If you don't know self-restraint, leave it for awhile (for the sake of the safety of others).
It is not a free for all, it is very structured and has some very good coaches. It is from them you learn, as well as by watching.

yea you can help me carry fuel![]()
i'm the worst but the first time i was at barbs i improved substantially.. not where i'd like to be but i learned a lot for myself. would be nice if i had help, instruction and direction instead of trying to remember TOTW![]()
but yea i'm hoping i will get more help tomorrow.. and sunday(MCRC)
sounds to me like you did a champions day without the option of coaching as opposed to racecraft or trakdayz which has coaching as part of the package? Trakdayz and racecraft you get intensive tuition in between sessions and each session has a structure in level 1.
PS: what's TOTW... throttle...?
