just been searching high and low, because i remember reading something about this a while ago.
basically just after any tip/trick for beginners with regard to bike set-up.
like; i seem to recall someone mentioning that taping up your lights/mirrors can be done with painter's tape (i think that was what was said), as it comes off easier and doesn't leave marks. also doesn't melt onto the headlight. true?
any other "pearls of wisdom" along these lines?![]()

I think the main reason why you need to tape up your lights is so if you go down and your lights get damaged in the process there isn't broken glass/plastic on the track.

Also for us taking photos it makes it easier for us if don't group up on the turns then we will have more of a chance to get a photo of you![]()
yeah, i can definately understand the reasoning.
what i really meant was; "is it better to use the blue painter's tape instead of masking/gaffer tape due to the ease of removal/cleaning?"
i will be riding to and from the track, so taking off lights/mirrors won't be an option for me. so any tips like this would be great! Cheers.

If you find it hard to remove the stuff left behind from the gaffer tape you could always use abit of metho to loosen up the glue I find this is the best way. I don't think painters tape would be idea because it doesn't hold on as good as gaffer in the case of a crash.
But if you want to question this just ask them at the race office.
