Sprocket sizes for 07/08 CBR600RR at Phillip Island

I'm thinking about a road trip to PI later this year to take in a track day before I get too bloody old for it.

Initial enquiries have told me that standard street gearing is the norm for PI ... so that would be 16/41. For Barbs I use 15/44. With a very fast last corner and a 1km straight I know a 15/44 combination would have you on the rev limiter in 6th probably before the half way mark.

Anyone got any intelligence on this?

For the R6 we ran -1/0 at PI.... Adam Senior would know what gearing to run at PI.

There's a countershaft tooth difference between a strong wind blowing up or down the front straight, so you're snookered till you get there anyway. Stock gearing may be ok, but I'd be packing something a tad taller just in case. Usually helps in driving through and out of the infield corners as well.
Main thing is, you should DEFINITELY ride The Island if it's at all humanly possible to do so, mate. Your life will never be the same....

Yep, have raced the Island Classic off and on since 2002. Magnificent, even on my old girl : turn 1 is flat, and Lukey is 4th gear !! Sure gets your eyes open wide...
