Just a quick note to say thanks to a coupla kind souls that took pity on me & let me have blat on their bikes on the w/e, Marty Moose for the 07 R6 & Marty (MCRC Club Cap'n) for the 08 CBR600RR.
The continuing saga of getting my bike prepped for the start of the season is really starting to shit me to tears, it better work perfect next time or it could be tossed of the nearest pier.
It's now been put on the trailer early 3 track days out of 4!
FYI:
R6 nice ride, good motor, a little nervous in the front compared to my ZX6 tho it's def not setup right to suit me; for one I'm heavier than Marty Moose. Motor's a lot like the ZX6 once over 10k, loves to rev, doesn't drop off as severely below 10k as the ZX6.
CBR is a very nice ride with a stonking motor & steers much more like my ZX6 so felt more familiar; steers slower than the R6 and with no slipper clutch produced a fair bit of rear end chatter into turn one. More physical to ride than the R6 so you'd want to be fit.
I have previously ridden the Daytona 675 & that has to be the best steering bike I've ever ridden, an absolute joy to ride & deceptively fast cos it's so effortless to ride (comparatively). Motor doesn't have the same feel as the other (triple duh) & requires a different riding style so ya use its midrange & don't rev the tits of it.
The brakes on all these bikes make mine look very sad.
My bike is pulls about 230 down the hill, I've seen 245 on the 675 & R6, & 260 on the CBR. My bike speed was at race pace the others just me having a blat.
Now if I could get a Triumph Daytona with the Honda motor in it I'd be in heaven.
Now just gotta have a blat on a GSXR to have sampled the full gamut of the 600 class & make a fair comparo ready for the upgrade at the end of the year (hopefuilly).
