Is there any interest in trying to get California Superbike School to WA

I am keen to do do the training at California Superbike School but obviously it is not in WA. It becomes quite expensive when you add the price of the course, getting to Victoria, either shipping your bike there or renting one and accommodation. I was curious if there was any interest in trying to get them to come over to WA to run their course a few times a year? What do people think?

Edit : Link added and for those that dont know what it is, It is the school that Keith Code set up to teach his Twist of the Wrist techniques and other stuff

Welcome... to the Australian branch of the California Superbike School.

“The California Superbike School has a bulletproof, step by step method for training riders in the exact skills of cornering motorcycles. We are not famous racers or great businessmen but we’ve become recognized worldwide, on four continents, because our system of training works and riders benefit from it.

From the official Norwegian licensing program for riders to the training of the motorcycle mounted Civil Defense, Fire and Police departments of South East Asia to the individual skills of very successful racers, riders improve (often beyond their expectations) by our system. We guarantee improvement.

Each of our many riding discoveries over the past three decades cleanly and effectively shatters the targeted barrier or the uncertainty riders experience in their cornering. The Superbike School’s program has matured and become integrated based on the experiences of real riders and their countless successes at overcoming their uncertainties, replacing them with skill and the real rush they’ve always wanted.

As we forge these discoveries into defined skills and written material, we translate them into simple and understandable techniques to constantly refine our four levels of training. With more effective drills and ways to demonstrate and communicate them, the success rate climbs and climbs. Our students are coached by us and they learn. Their barriers get blown away and are replaced with confidence.”

just my opinion: no. we don't have world class facilities, and if it was here my excuse to go to phillip island and eastern creek for the course would be removed. I want it to be more than just a educational course. I want a whole new experience, hence the going over east and renting a bike (will probably take own leathers, definately helmet and gloves). But agreed, it aint gonna be cheap. Meh, i need a holiday

i am happy to go to a better track and do it, at the extra expense. My only comment is this, do you think it is worth around 4 times the cost of a trakday (or maybe more by the time it's here!) for only 5 sessions, at a track you can do 7 sessions on for $170 with good help and tuition already with Trakdayz available?

I'm with the Short dude on this, best to go over and do it on a new track, did PI in 2005, was a blast, didn't cost that much, both of us went for the weekend, can't remember how much it was then, but I think flights are less now, would do it again in a heart beat, but would like to try a different track next time

Having done level 1 of the school at philip Island and asking about getting them over here the answer was a definite "No"
They are very careful to protect what they have going in the East and the cost of coming here would mean they wouldn't make alot of money.
There are very capable coaches here in the west and you can get as much out of a racecraft or a trakdays coaching session as you can from the Superbike School.
If there is something in particular you want to learn get in touch with either and discuss your requirements.
    Thats my 2c worth anyway

Note the SUPERBIKE part of the name. They don't take it for a joke
Keith Code founded the school and he still writes the courses. If you don't know who he is i suggest you read "Twist of the Wrist"
Phillip Island is a complete different ball game, 12 corners and the slowest one is about 120km/hr
Waste of money unless you are capable to ride it.
if you crash at Barbs dont bother. You will also be laughed at, other people will be pissed off when you turtle around the corner at 40km/hr. And the coach will tell you to go home and do some practice before coming back.

about asking them to come to Perth, they are world-class training people like Ben Spies and MotoGP riders. What makes you think they will come to such a shit hole like Barbs? (no offence but Perth infrastructures are seriously outdated)

Slightly off topic but we need a new 'Barbs' just watch the GP and look at world class circuits. I am not suggesting we need to go that far but at least Eastern Creek standard, even Winton is better than what we currently have. Keep Barbs as a practice track but to attract world class or even national class we should be able to do better.

All the current mob is interested in is AFL and a new oval.

    have you done the course?
no have you even been to phillip island?

the reason i recommend people not to do it until they are fairly experienced with track works is because if you crash at phillip island you are either seriously injured or dead.
half of the corners there you wont even go around it without tipping in four or five times mid corner unless you are on full throttle.
CSS will push you beyond your limits that's what they do. You sit in a room chewing on theory for an hour before they even let you out and when you do they expect you to be fast non of the 'where the hell should i place my foot' bullshit like trackdayz do

Everyone on the day had a number or has been riding for half their life. If you think you can come out there and expect to be an obstacle dont be surprised when they tell you to leave

Well it's promoted as 'best place to learn, safer than the road, beginners to advanced etc' so it shouldn't be that suprising but it was to me too. I thought I would be one of the slowest noobs on my first one, but there were plenty worse. (Course I've gone downhill since then lol) I thought maybe more people hear about it/ see it as a standard way to learn more skills now than perhaps in the past?
A new, bigger track would be great but I can't see it happening for a while. And I bet going over East as some have said would be fantastic! And the trackdays and racecraft etc over here are great, and the expense probably would be prohibitive, and it's doubtful it would ever happen. I'd still go though
I wouldn't look at going East until I felt I was at a skill level where that sort of cost and time would benefit me. So, like Submit, I wouldn't go as a noob.
Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever tried to have a road track closed off for a day of racing? Like the Weir Road loop or something like that?

Until there is an alternative track in Perth you won't get any more operators because the track and collie for that matter is booked out. No free weekends kapish? As with any education source, you only get out what you put in. You can do all the schooling you want but if you don't listen your going to get sweet f all out of it. The trakdayz coaches and racecraft coaches can help you learn to ride if you let them. I mean they helped me, and I'm useless and still don't have my r class yet and have been riding for just over 18 months. Something to think about.
