Thanks Stephan, I learned a lot from you over the course of the day.

THIS.....^^^^
Way better than
THIS

Crumpetman...upper body leading weight transfer off bike, better line for your level/current speed, looking thru exit of corner where you want to go

Jackerz...upper body over tank, way off line, looking 6 feet in front of bike not through corner

Im by no means an expert....but hooks are baited

Yah I noticed that earlier.. you can hang your ass off all you want but unless you get your upper body into the corner as well, you're still going to be leaning the bike a LOT. Also as justin said, look through the corner, not at the road straight ahead.

I've been on eBay tonight and spent about $1200 so far ... new Chinese fairings (got the Repsol scheme this time), new frame sliders, sub frame from a wreck in California and new bar ends for a starters. The leathers will need repairing as well

I was the idiot who threw it away in Group 4 first session ... too cold, too hard, too soon. The tyres were hot to start with (warmers) but I reckon they got colder from the low track temperature. In the left hander for the fifth time the knee was on the ground, the bars turned then straightened, turned again and she was down. Lost the front.

The trailer "ride of shame" back to the pits is the worst part. I got back on the horse after 3 metres of duct tape and a bit of straighting here and there. The seat was offset about 50mm to the left so she was really good in the left hander after that.

cheers,

Scott

Having seen some of the photos of the day (well done guys!) I have a question.

I thought it was compulsory to remove mirrors and tape up lights before taking your bike out on the track. Is this not the case?

jackerz is correct....speedo, mirrors(glass part at least, if whole unit not removed), brake lights, and "GLASS" headlight lenses(plastic, as most are now, are ok)

You don`t have to take your mirrors off for trakdayz, but obviously, if you take them off and you fall off, they won`t break...

Ducatis cept for the Trumpy

had a great day again. trumpy ran like a charm. apart from the coolness of the track in the first session (found by some who were a little too willing)all was good in the world. had a couple of great dices with thou's that got the blood stirred. running mid/low 65s quite comfortably without needing to scrape the knee much at all.

for fear of being controversial i did have concerns that some of the group 4 riders were not experienced enough (didn't hold lines) nor fast enough (>75s). really should be in group 3 but there you go, what will be will be. it just meant passing lots on varying lines and locations.

i notice when booking online that groups 1 and 2 spots seem to fill first and group 3 and 4 are empty till the last minute. maybe the reason why people group 4 has some slower riders in it, is cos there arent enough fast riders to fill it up?

This one is better than both imo. Weight centralised in the foetal position, head up and surveying the carnage unfolding on my baby.

Yeh, you've really got the arse slider down! Great series of pics that Vaughan captured of your little "incident" too. Really hope the damage bill ain't too big Simon.
