    Tyre pressures with racing wets

Given the weather tomorrow is looking shit house I'm prob gOnna get some wets at the track and was wondering best tyre pressures off the tyre warmers (on their low setting 40c)

would love to hear from any experienced racers that have wet experience. Not so keen on hearing opinions from people who have only read in books what they know

I ran at 34-36PSI on the Pirelli's the few times I've been out on the wets. Still got a set that is 4 years old, and only been used three times. They're my lucky charm to keep rain away though

Warmers do very little for wets as the first couple of puddles will take most of the heat out of them so set your pressures cold for the most consistent results. If you get the Bridgestones from the club then 34 rear 36 front is a good start.

I dont wont to sound like an idiot (to late) but why are you putting more air in the front tyre in the wet, is this for better braking?

Its to keep the tyre carcase stiff, and ensure the tread blocks stay apart and direct the water away from the contact patch. If you have the pressures too low, the tread blocks are squeezed together and act as a flat surface (i.e. slicks), which means that you just aquaplane and have no grip anywhere....
