    250cc cruises

    Hey all
I have just joined the forum and wonder if anyone organises many 250cc cruises.
I would honestly feel a little stupid being on my R-E licence and having a 250 and trying to go on cruises with the experienced people with bigger bikes.

So is there any group of 250 riders that make friends, that ride around and gain exprience and knowledge together.

not wishing to piss in your cornflakes, but if a bunch of inexperienced riders all ride around together, whom exactly are they learning from?

Have a gander in the 'in the loop' section, there's plenty of rides every week, lots of them 250 friendly. You might want to try out one of Stoneville's LNR rides.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

WBS +1 any ride listed as 250 friendly or ask and you will be welcomed.

You may be slower but they will generally wait at turnoffs, you don't have to keep up and sometimes safer if you don't try

Just head along to one of the weekly social rides, its catered for learner riders so you will be more than fine
Our Father, Who art at Phillip Island, Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
In the backroads as it is on the freeway
Give us this day our high-octane premium fuel
    And forgive us our lanesplitting
As we forgive the four wheel drives, the volvos and the taxis
And lead us not into gravel corners
But deliver us from hand-held radars
For thine is thy leather, thy denim, thy Gore-Tex and thy Kevlar

I'm in Joondalup pm me if you want a ride sometime, I enjoy a little cruise now and then, usually down the coast to Hillary's or Freo even.

Seriously my advice would be (similar to barfridge):

don't get hung up on the fact you're on a 250. Unless its a "fast" ride (tagged "spirited" or such) or labeled as not 250 friendly ask one of the guys organising a normal ride if its ok for 250 and if so, go on it.

most rides are speed limit +/- a bit unless way out in the middle of nowhere, and again, unless its "not 250 friendly" people will generally corner mark/wait.

you'll learn FAR more by riding with others who are more experienced than you will amongst a pack of noobs who all have no idea.

250 is just a number, your ability on the ride is what makes the different.

I've seen a few that choose to stay on 250's and can out ride most bike bikes (as long as there aren't to many straights)

No one thinks less of you for having a 250, that's were we all started (except maybe the dinosaurs of psb)

As mentioned just turn up to a 250 friendly ride, which the majority are, say hi and have a great time.

Only place 250 really seem to struggle a bit in country runs and that's only because people get heavy handed (and light wheeled) on big open straights. The mass are good here so groups always wait.

Finally don't think you'll be the only 250 out on rides, you guys are everywhere. At the moment I seem to see more 250's out and about than big bikes.

go with bigger bikes...you learn things quicker like road positioning, i personally dislike riding with 250's as its highly risky reason being as MOST 250 riders have the mentality ive got to go fast to keep up with the bigger bikes. im happy to wait 5min at the stops then have to ride back and hang around waiting for an ambulance or a trailer to pick up the mistakes.

What they all said makes sense and you'll certainly be welcome on all sorts of rides ... But still might be nice to get a few 250 riders together for some little outings and chats :-) I'm keen anyway. P
