Hi, Yesterday I've just had to put the 3rd set of spark plugs in my suzuki across.
This is the 3rd set in 2 mnths.
What could be causing this?
Is it a common problem? Or is there something happening in my motor?
Any feedback would be appreciated![]()

Got any photos of the plugs you've removed?
NO, But the bottom of them are black.
More info required, how many km on the motor etc is it oil fouling? Could it be low compression? Are you running 98 octane fuel where I would assume regular or standard premium may be a better choice since its an older engine?
68xxx km's not sure whats fouling??? oil possibly? running it on regular unleaded.
If the plugs aren't oily I'd lean towards compression dropping off as your engine gets closer to old age but it could be as simple as dirty air cleaners or a stuck choke
Choke doesnt appear to be stuck or get stuck... I can adjust that easily. I was thinking prob more old age??? What if the plugs are oily?
If the plugs are oily that's age related too but you would notice blue grey smoke at startup or when riding, shouldn't cost you much to get a mechanic to do the basic compression and leakdown tests then a freshen up of pistons, rings, valve seats and stem seals etc
But I digress, start simple. air filters, choke, fuel type, plug temp range and get the carbs cleaned and finally tune up where they can run the basic tests.

Do you have to top up the oil?
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.
No not much at all....
you've said the plugs are black and you've had to replace them, but how's the bike actually running? has it lost power or anything like that?
"I think she's kinda sweet...but she makes her living catching cum in her mouth and i'm sensing that's a problem with you"
If the plugs are black that would indicate to me that the fuel/air mix is too rich,
start simple. air filters, choke, fuel type, plug temp range and get the carbs cleaned and finally tune up where they can run the basic tests.
Have u checked your air filter ?? Sounds like its running too rich and a clogged air filter could easily cause that.
All advice followed.... its at the bike DR as we speak.....

Let us know how it turns out. They're great little bikes, those Suzi's.
