Id drain the carbs down and put some new petrol in the tank before anything else? Check the usual stuff - kill switch, sidestand switch?, battery condition etc...

Possible gummed up carbs, which will mean a stripdown & clean, make sure they go back together clean - ultrasonic cleaning will ensure all passages are clear/clearer.

I would say get a plug out and check for a spark but unless you have the arms of a small child / have 6"fingers and two elbows per arm they are a b@stard to get out...

I'm interested in this, my sister has the same problem with hers, i've pulled the plugs and there is spark, i suspect the vacuum line on the fuel tap or something like that is corroded or pinched, haven't had a chance to look at it again.

Do they have a vacuum-operated fuel supply? Had problems with an NC24 a few years back, the diaphragm was split so wouldnt open?

if u have a multimeter stick it on the battery and see if it drops below 9volt when u press the starter. if so u need a new battery. if the battery drops a cell it will power the starter motor but then wont have a strong enought spark.

if it hasnt been started in over a year then the battery will definitely be stuffed (unless you have charged it), and the fuel will be stale.

as mentioned, change the fuel first, get a set of jumper leads and get a jump start off a car (make sure it isnt running)

if that doesnt help then check fuel flow and plugs.
