Hi all
Just wanted to see if a group of PSB 250 riders would like to do a RAC Advance riding day. If their is enough interest we could do a group session.
I have never done it, so if there is any feed back on the course...?

COst of ARD is around $240
Yes it has been done before, takes a lot to organise and you usually need to guarantee numbers (16). Your best bet is to just book in and go, the day is spent in the classroom and out on the track, it doesn't really matter what size bike you have.
You do all the slow work skills i.e. braking, u turns, cornering, slow speed drills. In between all of this when it is not your turn, you ride around the top track practising your cornering. It doesn't really matter who is out there with you, much the same as the Trakdayz level 1.
The tuning sessions (which you can do after you have done the ARD) would be the better one to organise 250 only, less money involved and more even power around the track, though this is still dependant on 250 skill level
Alert also run Advanced Roadcraft days, they take you out into the country as well as go though slow speed skills
DrShan - no bike to rent you take your own and you must be licensed for it as well
keen
i'm already in for the RAC ARD on 26th feb. it fills up fast so get in quick if there are still spots available. if you can't get the numbers just sign up and keep me companyor watch me make a twit of myself

cheers stoneville, after a few calls it does seem to be filling up ill just book it for myself. btw do u know if you can hire that small track for a group of bikes?
I did the ARD on a 250, there was another 250 there on the day too. The track is tight and 250's seem to hold the pace quite well.
I checked this out a few years back...before it was RAC so things might have changed. You could hire the track at a pretty good price (can't remember how much now) but insurance was pretty insane. There was also the option of booking out a Tuning Session.
Did one of these at the end of last year, i was very lucky as for some reason there was only 6 of us so pretty much had the track to my self. Was the best thing i have done on the bike so far, helps with your skills and also got the knee down wich is always goodalso as it is not technically a race track if you do come off for some reason your are still insured.
Now need to wait to get me big bike and go for a tunning seshion.
I'm keen. When will this be happening?

nothing official just heard of a mate hiring the loop track for a group of cars! so thought we could do it for a group of newbie 250's. Ill find out if we can and cost.
'Zis suitable for giving the wifey some confidence in her riding , or is it more learning a bit then flogging the shit out of it on the track type of day??
Why wait for you big bike to do the tuning session . You will just as much ,if not more on a smaller bike around there and you will get your corner skills up before going to a bigger bike and think how you will go with the biigger bike after spending time on the smaller bike. Much much better

I'm interested - if we can get a prices\time look I'll see if I can attend. I'll bring one other as well.
No she isn't on here [yet] , but no doubt will do once she gets out on a few rides. I haven't pushed her yet to do a group ride of any sort until she feels confident enough to go .
I can't find Red Is Best on the members list , so if she [?] is around, can she pm me to see if there is a vacancy for the 29th please?![]()

OK will sort it, the next ladies ride is this Tuesday night, plus another one on Wednesday night, all rides are to the lowest ability rider, plus we have learners as well, so she should be OK, I'll look after herI'll PM you my number so she can call me for details, plus she can drive to the dinner and meet us there

I will try again during the week and see if anyone answers.
Very keen to do this so can get out on a Tuning day which sounds like I can learn a bit and have some fun doing it.
Peace out
