yeah they are, you can get yellow stickered for them according to the assessor i had.
edit : if they're big enough or standard for the bike you may be ok my ones are quite small and thats why they pulled me up on them.

i followed all the advice on here b4 i went to my test and i only lost 1/4 of a mark which is pretty much a clean sheet.
To all the people(like 2 years ago lol) saying you should do the test on the bike your going to be riding, i think you missed the point. You learn on the instructors bike because it helps develop your confidence, skills, etc then do the test on it because your aim is to pass first time, not lose another $50 or 60 or whatever i paid for it
You go to learner rides and practice your general riding there, get a shadow and go into the bush for a bit of a spin on the weekends, but in the end, when you get your P's you'll be riding your bike non-stop until you either upgrade or it rains too heavily for you to ride safely(lol...)
Get the lessons on the instructors bike, then shadow with your bike, then do practical, get licence, ride, ride, ride some more, did i mention riding?......thats my plan anyways....
Hoping to get my bike P's asap, before November atleast....
Success is nothing more then taking advantage of an opportunity.
I just took my test this morning at Morley and failed unfortunately. Had an instructor by the name of Hensley and was bit dissappointed because I made it through the entire test and back to the licensing centre, only to be told I failed.
I know I can ride, I've got all the correct bike control and I felt I showed the assessor, but he picked me up on small things like taking corners to wide and missing blind spot checks. To my credit I was extremely nervous and hence things weren't as 'tight' as they should have been. Plus I made a wrong turn on the first set of directions, but felt I handled everything ok, considering. I pulled over, received directions again, O turned and continued on.
I had to do the quick stop three times. First time I locked up the back brake a tiny bit, but still pulled up in 10m. Second time i was little bit under speed approaching and the third time stopped it in 8m. Figure O's was no problem, did the 6 complete turns Piece of Piss.
My advice for anyone taking the test is try not to let nerves get to you and get familiar with the area you will taking your assessment in. I think and also dont use the back brake much at all in the quick stop, that stuffed me up. my natural reaction as a driver is to slam the foot down i spose??
Bottom line is I'm pissed off I didn't get it and have to wait another month to do it all over again. :@:@
Hey guys passed my test a while back so thought i might share some of the things i got told not to do, first of all dont stop or ride in the centre of the oil slick it just makes the instructer look at your riding more, act confident not cocky. when you pull over or do anything milo, even if your not sure just milo its not gona harm your score. ahhh also i made the mistake of putting my left foot down on the kerb rather than the road thats one point gone. for your emergeny stop if you keep locking up the front brake dont use it just rest your foot on it so not to make it to obvious, also make sure you use both brakes for braking during your riding. hmmmm what else make sure you take note of school zones and the best advice i can offer is have a lesson right before the test to get your confindence up and use the instructors bike.
Use punctuation so you dont sound like a retard.
If cleanliness is next to godliness, why was jesus a dirty sandal-wearing beardo?
Hey dxl, sorry to hear that you failed your test. Hopefully the nerves play a little less on your mind for your next attempt
It is my understanding that you only get two attempts at the emergency stop before he has to fail you. Maybe your first two attempts were enough for the instructor to say no
Goodluck next time, sounds like you're a confident rider and you'll have no problem.
Ps - After my test the assessor I had was talking to my instructor. Apparently for the emergency breaking they are now required to raise there arm as the signal to brake. He also said that if you happen to lock the front brake at all it's an automatic fail as they have a duty of care towards you and it could end up a lot worse if you do it again.
I passed my test a couple of weeks back. Starting to go stircrazy while I figure out which 250 road/trail I'm going to buy. A lot of dealers don't seem to have a demo I can ride which makes the descision even harder..
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.
Cheers Jasey, i spose I just need sympathy thats all BAha yeah i will pass next time.
Assessor specifically told me that the quick stop and O turns were all good, and he told me reason why i didn pass was i got too many points deducted for road positioning, missed head checks and leaving indicators on too long. stupid shit. Oh well got next test booked for 26th.
I got my (road) bike from causeway Kawasaki.. they were pretty helpful and friendly there. Perhaps u can find the right advice your after on psb.. good luck with the hunting

I hardly call road positioning, head checks and leaving indicators on stupid shit, this shit will keep you alive on the roads if done correctly, 99% of the stuff you are taught to do is very important.
yeah milo should be second nature, even a year after my test i don't think i miss one in day to day riding.
