While it is comfortable for most learners, you don't need both feet on the floor dude.
How tall are you?

WHS^^^
Also be aware that you can get bikes lowered if required. There are some vertically challenged individuals circa 150cm or 5'0" that do quite well on larger bikes![]()
In complete darkness we are all the same. It is only our knowledge and wisdom that seperate us. Dont let your eyes deceive you.
Its the little things that make the difference

How low, I couldn't tell you.

^^^ 810mm for the '07.
Don't let the seat heights mislead you, I have an R6 ('05) which is a normal/reasonable height, did a few adjustments (lowered forks, got a drag(?) bar/dog bone, some interesting boots) and it works ok. You can also look at shaving the seat. But you can check here if you want to get an idea...
Motorcycle Specifications

GSXR600 is quite tall, the 1000 is lower.
I'm 163cm, and can manage on a GSXR1000 ok, tippytoes of both feet, or comfortably flatfooted on one foot
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.
Put it this way I my feet aren't flat on the floor but I can sit on my Ninja 250R and Push it back to reverse on tippy toes
From one vertically challenged to another..it will frustrate you to hell and back.
But each person has different leg lengths etc. Try them all.
While some say you dont need two feet, do whats comfy for yourself.. I ride all weather and if I only had one foot or super tippy toes my bike would be on its side more times that I would care to endure..when its windy as hell or when you have dips in roads/cambers etc.. I need two "footings" so to speak.
ps...everything swanky n much wanted is to bloody tall
forgot to add... Street (not speed) tripple is do-able for me as well as the others mentioned

Ninj - 780mm but also only 150 kilos (the weight also makes a difference). Mine is prob about the same height now and only 10 odd k heavier. I can't touch/barely touch with both feet and I haven't...oh wait. You'll be fine, you do get used to it and learn to adjust, just try out bikes with a low seat height or bikes that are capable of being lowered.

2009 Monster = 770mm

Chuck Norris is 1/8th Cherokee. This has nothing to do with ancestry, the man ate a fucking Indian.
One thing to take into account other than pure seat height is seat WIDTH, as if it splays your legs too much they can't go straight down.
Forget paper figures, if you're shorter and looking for a sports bike, i'd suggest checking out:
Gixxer thou
CBR600RR
CBR600F4i
Yamaha R6 08 (rather than the 06-07 - that EVERY SHORT PERSON seems to want to try and ride, the seat is a bit narrower on the 08)
... before assuming you won't fit due to height.
Would suggest that *in general* twins, being narrower will help in this regard... maybe check out the SV650/SV1000 as well...
I'm 6' ish, ride an 07 600RR, and certainly notice that its quite a bit harder to flat foot on the 07 R6 for example, simply due to seat width... (obviously i'm tall enough to ride either bike, but my legs are even slightly bent on the RR with feet flat)
stuff

Another short arse here. I've found that most of the cruisers are a given. Also a few of the 600 super sports are made with short people in mind. shortsteve seemed pretty damn happy with his ZX-10. Most of the entry bikes like ER-5/6 and GS500 and the likes are made to suit people of most heights but don't have the same power.
My first bike was a ZZR, which I could get one foot flat on the ground and kinda scrape the ground with the other, which I was rather happy with. I can get both feet down with my 125 because it's so damn small and thin, and that makes things even more comfortable. From riding other bikes I've found I'm happiest when I can at very least scrape the ground with my toes on both sides, but as long as you can get your toes down on one side, you'll be alright.
Though, even better, if you find a bike you really like that's a little bit too tall, you can always lower the suspension an inch or two. My Triumph will be adjustable, and I'll probably have it taken down about an inch so that I have a better foot hold with both feet rather than trying to scrape without comprimising the handling too much. And the best thing about it being adjustable is, if I do want the additional clearance it's only a matter of twisting a nut.

You just got the ninj didn't you? When are looking at buying a big bike? There maybe a few more models out by then...

ZX6 and ZX10 are tall, but I have seen a real short guy ride a 10, he was resting on his left leg, threw the bike upright and took off, ya shoulda seen the lean on it, made me giggle, but good on him
My 05 636 is way taller than the Gixxer thou and 750
