Available RE & R Learner shadows v5

Experienced Riders, PM me your name and what licence you can shadow and what area you are available in, so we can hook you up with a learner every now and again and I'll update the list

No pressure, if you get a PM from a learner and you don't have time then that's cool, if we have a list then there will always be someone else (hopefully)

Below is a map with 'soft' boundaries, if you're coming from North and can pick someone up on the way down (vise versa south to north) for the Learner - Newbie rides, please do, on some rides you might only need to get the rider there, someone else may be available to take them home.



NOTE to Learners - We are not Instructors (though we can give you tips), the shadows putting their names below offer their services for learner city or country rides and expect that you have done rider training with an instructor and are of a standard that you are capable of riding in a group. Please ask nicely and be ready to go when your shadow arrives, if you find that you can't be ready for when you arranged, please get in contact with your shadow ASAP so they aren't sitting around waiting for you. Make sure you have money with you for food/drink/or fuel.
Do not take it for granted you will be able to get a shadow for a particluar outing or for your test, you may not. If your regular riding Instructor is booked out for the day when your test is on, by all means post up a seperate thread, do not expect to find a shadow though, as most work during the day, give plenty of notice and make alternative arrangements just in case i.e. Trailer or ute to take your bike to the test. Good form is to offer your shadow something for their time and effort, they may or may not accept. If you are geniune and considerate you will have many offers.

You are also required display your 'L' plates at all times.

Just an idea to give the n00bs a bit of heads up of what is expected of them.

• Have ‘L’ plates fitted to the front and rear of the vehicle while driving. The ‘L’ plates must be 150mm x150mm with a black ‘L’ on a yellow background.

Silly question, but is this neccesary for R-E? i thought i only needed one L-plate at the back? When i see P-platers, i only see one P-plate ... i know the motorcycle schools have a high visibility L-plated jacket they wear, but am i doing it wrong with only one?

No only one on the rear is required on the bike, you can tape an L plate to your back pack, back of your jacket also if you want.

My licence, HC R, I,m 50 now, riding since 14. Can shadow this LNBR Thursday 19/2/09 if needed. I'm in the S'th East zone, Armadale. I do not know what a "PM" is?

Hey if anyone is available over the next few days to go for a ride and shadow me (R class) it will be very appreciated.

I'm just wanting to get out and adjust more to the bigger bike, although please be adviced the pace will be quite sedate.

I'm in Sorrento N.O.R and i'm not back at work till thursday (shift worker).

If anyone is free to go for a ride let me know, i'll shout fuel/lunch

4 years, and you will only be able to shadow other RE riders, not R
