    Time to kill thread ?
I never said that, i only said that if you were to decide on whether or not you would have a 250 or something bigger, the majority of people will choose a bigger bike...hence, technically no 250 is good, since most will opt for a bigger bike, otherwise if i were wrong everyone would be riding around on a 250 yeah?
    Degreaser?

Big Dave, yah I hear you on that! But seriously the whole 250/bigger bike has become a fabrication built around legislation, and yes many 250s are overvalued for that reason, especially since the death of 2-strokes (and where is all the direct injection tech meant to make them green?). I chose my bike as a challenge to learn and grow into, not a painful/boring stepping stone. It keeps up with the bigger bikes (limited by my sad ability) on the straight, in the corners... (now it IS limited by me) lighter bikes give awesome chuckability and FUN factor. The point of being able to do 300kph if you are not on the track? I kinda get worried that folks get sucked into 'only 250 for a year - then get a thou' - and then we see threads about them not being able to O-turn for the test, and blame the bike (and yeah, they aint made for that).
Do we ride for the pleasure? And is that dictated by horsepower or top speed? Or how much pleasure we get from riding what we have chosen for whatever reasons?

Indeed and I did the same when choosing my 250. I know quite a few people that have had their 250 for almost 10 yrs and even one guy that has bought four new 250's over the past 20yrs - he's had his open licence for 20yrs and never felt the need to get anything more powerful.

But just as you said, ride what you like and what challenges you and more importantly what you can control.

Every ride should be enjoyable Mine always are
