    best mufflers

so im picking up my new 10' hyosung gt250r today and was thinking about putting on a different muffler. i know there are many out there, some better on sound and some better on performance, but i'm really only wanting a better sound.
so...what is the best muffler for my new bike or in general?
i'm still noob to bikes and hope i've asked the right question
    thanks

I would say the standard muffler would do the best job at muffling.

rider training would give you better performance than any muffler you can buy for your hyosung.

its a 250, you may not, but most likely will drop it if ur learning, spend the cash on rider training, or for when u drop your baby

i agree w/ Gambino. i bought a 10' GT250R couple weeks ago, gonna wait a little while before i get a new pipe, coz lets face it, we are goin to do something stupid like drop our bikes while stationary.....not that i've done that already ... but yeh. get confindence and experience first.

there are a handful of brands on ebay.

    IXIL, screaming demon, staintune etc.

also i'm pretty sure roo racing make one for your bike. Roo Racing. This guy is local and his exhausts are top notch.

In terms of sound they'll probably all sound similar as long as they are straight through cans.

The screamin demon is great. Sounds great and is a good price too. Get them straight off eBay for round 300 delivered. Easy to install yourself unless your a complete retard.

I'm with drifter, rider training is money well spent, shit you can only hear it when you start it up, most times the noise becomes a pain while you are riding. Do a few weeks without one, then take one out with a loud exhaust and see what the difference is.

Most people I know use MP3 players or ear plugs so whats the point ?? Doesn't get you anymore for the bike when you sell it and some people prefer standard, so make sure you keep the exhaust in a safe place if you do change it out.

i was gunna do the same thing when i bought my ninja a year a ago but then thought better of it. they don't sound that good on a 250 and they cost an arm and a leg, plus you wont get any back in the resale as stated by others. but hey if you have your heart set on it then go for it all we can do is provide you with our opinions man.

The stock one actually gives more power, and weighs less.

Yep was in the same situation as you a few month ago when I got mine, do some proper rider training, trakdayz etc. first..

If you do decide it's what you want, get one from America, my Two Brothers carbon cost just over AU$450 which is wayyyy cheaper than any of the aussie one's I could find...but they do all sound shit, and don't even try and convince yourself that you'll gain more power from it!

If the 2010 Hyo is anything like the '07, the only useful mod you need to make is the headlights, they are shite!

i've had my licence scince august last year, yeah i no i've waited to long for a bike, and i've been riding my dads 250 in that time so i'm not new to riding.
i only dropped his once and that was coz i was drunk and trying to sit on the handle bars at a party :S not a good idea...
dale britton, where i got my bike, was saying that the howler pipes are the best... true? or they just wanna sell me one

Rider training is probably better bang for buck...

But if you are living with a bike for a whole year and have to hear it X times a day a better sound is very appreciated. Hyo's don't sound half band with an aftermarket pipe. So if you can justify $300+ go for it.

    Do both IMO.

A bloke at work has the same bike as you, he has a screamin demon pipe, it does sound pretty impressive, I can hear the rumble from it on the other side of the compound inside the office (easy 100metres away through several walls). But he also has this bike for a few years and isnt interested in upgrading
