They look either too close to the seat or too far from the screen.

now that does look good, as for the handle bars, its a bit of a comprimise, bike wants to look sporty but at the same time be comfy so the bars are higher than some would like, leads to a very upright position when riding.
But when most people buying these bikes are new to riding, that is only going to help increase their vision, which is a good thing.
Besides still a very flickable great handling bike for what it is, just need better tyres.

speaking of tyres, surely the new 250r has different rim sizes to fit more tyres now?
Oh and btw, what model designation/code does it have? Or is it just 'ninja 250r', which doesnt seem right

17inch wheels now like the ZZR250. The GPX250 had 16inch wheels.
Pretty sure the model designation is still EX250R, same as the GPX, just later model year.
