Msg Bart - he booked one not too long ago
And yes, I sympathise having to sit on the phone to book your test... Was ringing up EVERY day in December last year because I wanted to get in before Christmas... and was tying up the reception phone! Oh, and to get an early test is purely pot luck - someone may have cancelled a nano-second before you rang cos they go like hot-cakes!

if you're still having trouble getting a booking when the time comes that you can go for your R, i got some mates within the licensing side of DPI that can get you one asap. just need to give them your licence and contact number so they can call you once they get a test booking for you.

Winter is the best time to try and get a cancellation. From what I hear, when rain is predicted, some people cancell out, scared of the braking test, or dont own wet gear, or something.
So basically from what I hear, if the weather bureau predicts rain, jump on the phone! |

yea go for it when its raining aye... i did my test and it wasnt exactly raining but it had been raining earlier so the roads were still wet and i was a bit worried about the braking but in the end i just used my front brake only and pulld up within the distance and only had to do it once so yea its pretty easy to do it in the rain
