Got my learners and a brand new 2007 gpx250r, paid 6.5 grand from causeway kawasaki and got helmet, jacket and gloves with it
I've had one lesson so far (first time ever getting on a 2 wheeler) and can ride pretty confidently now and love it.
how do you all treat your brand new bikes? do you not rev it past 4-6,000rpm for first 800kms like the manual says? or do you thrash it? or do ya just ride normal and rev high every now and then?
If there are any shadows in armadale i would greatly appreciate having a shadow to get me more experience on the roads
Heres a pic of my baby!

for the first 200kays do as the book sez but then just intermitently rev to just before the redline (2k before) till after ur first service, then get on it for fun.

This is how i have found the best way from all the info i got from the search button.

Once again this question crops up.
Firstly: Read the learners permit. It is illegal for you to ride alone unlicensed.

I see that your only concern is getting caught? Dude, you've had one lesson, the bigger concern would be having an accident due to inexperience, not to mention your insurance not covering you, and having no personal injury cover.
Riding without a license is not just illegal but absolutely stupid.
As for geting caught - I hope you do, there's enough madness on the roads without you adding to it.
If you do get 'caught' , you will lose your license, including your car license. It's really not worth it.
So get lessons, be safe and pass your test before even contemplating going out on your own. We've had enough accidents/deaths of unlicensed riders this year already to last a lifetime.

congrats dude... nice bike.... are flames back in the scene

Anyway should also change the oil and filter after about 200 km....since the engine is brand new there might be fine machining swarfe or grit in the engine which could ruin the engine components.

Good to hear, grasshopper. Next weekend is country ride lesson and an opportunity to have fun while realising there is a little more to riding a bike than taking off and stopping. You're doing well, real well, so far, but never underestimate the potential to get hurt through (i) another road user fucking up; (ii) you fucking up or (iii) your bike fucking up. Hopefully (ii) and (iii) will be out of the equation through what I'm showing you, but (i) can at best be anticipated and hopefully avoided, but never think it won't happen.

Thanks mick, I really appreciate all the help and lessons. Can't wait for the weekend to get out riding again, but yeah i know people lose concentration while driving or do stupid stuff, I seen a fair bit just this year that could have gotten people killed very easily, Some people really shouldn't be on the roads. Riding a bike has made my driving alot better and more aware of others on the road.
