gpx chain removal/install

hey guys.
looking for information on changing my timing chain, i have removed heads, cams, clutch and removed old chain by knocking out a pin and breaking it. but is there any other way of installing the new chain without breaking and putting it thru again. there is a 'cog' on the end of the 'primary gear,' is that able to be removed by any means to make life easier?????? cheers...
