Hello,
My GPX is having a bit of a die, finally! I don't think it's too hard to fix however just need an opinion.
While overseas the battery died to a point where it won't start so I tried to push start it. I live on a massive hill so I figured I'd go down the driveway and try to jump start it. Thing is, in neutral it rolls fine but when in first, with the clutch lever pulled all the way it it's very hard to roll and hence push start. After a lot of cursing and pushing back up said massive hill I managed to get it started and went for a ride, but at the lights, in 1st gear and with the clutch lever pulled all the way in there is smoke coming from what seems to be the gear-box, which is a worry, and it creeps forward so I need the brake on to stop it from creeping. I'm thinking with the lever in, the clutch isn't fully dis-engaging and I'm not sure whether it's the cable (which is beyond adjusting) or the clutch itself. Which one do I replace and is either a big job? Sorry if this is something fairly fundamental but I'm not very mechanically minded! Cheers,
Paul
