    Cool Head bolts ZXR250

    Just a quick question
What torque do the head bolts get tightened to on a ZXR250 1990

The manual says 18nm but thats only 13 foot pounds thats not enough to seal a head i can tighten that by hand almost

You're talking about the 7mm OD one yeah? I'll second that, go by the manual. It's an Al block remember.

have another look, that may be the initial tourque. should be done in 2 or 3 stages to reach full tourque. you are correct that is quite loose, considering standard tourque for a m8 thread is 21 +/- 5 ft/lb.
