Hi Max no not yet! Have taken it back numerous times to DB's and most of the times it won't play up. Then the other day (Monday) while I was on a lesson it started playing up worse than ever before. It sounded like it was running on one cylinder all of a sudden and when I tried to increase throttle revs it coughed and farted and would not accellerate so I backed off and it seemed better but still not right Bloody pissing me off though! Other than this problem everything is good. When I turn it off and leave it for 10 minutes like at that time being the worst ever, and then turn it on again it seems to run ok, I'm at my wits end and DB's had it for a few days and the boss mechanic rode it around during that time and the light never came on for him at all! typical!

On another note..
What was the problem at the end of this? i had the problem last week with my engine cutting out and the FI light and check engine note coming up. A week later (today) on returning home from Hillarys, my bike's done it again, coughing and spluttering to a halt, luckily this time 10 metres from my house. I've searched Korider and a few threads on here but none with the exact problem i've had.
Hi Towly, DB's thought it might be that I wasn't riding it enough so I decided to start riding it every day and you wouldn't believe it! It has rarely come on since! My bike also used to cough and splutter too but used to just pull over and turn it off and restart after 30 secs and all was good again! In my case maybe the battery was not fully charged or something but it seems to be sorted out! I know this probably doesn't help you but nobody seems to have been able to put their finger on the cause (not even the Dealer!) to arrive at a definite cause as to why this warning light comes on. If it was just the warning light with no other problems arising from this then I would just suspect a faulty warning light but like you the engine runs rough whn this happens. Sorry not able to offer anything more concrete! Nearly drove me to sell it though! Bye
I haven't owned a EFI Hyo (yet!) but I do know they are abusive to the batteries - the 250s are revvy engines, and only charge the battery above 5000rpm - I put a voltmeter on my previous GT250 and while idling at traffic lights, with headlights, brakes and indicators on, voltage would drop to around 9 volts. Commuting on a GV250 usually means not a lot of high revs, so I connect mine to a Battery Fighter (1.25AHr 3 stage charger) originally only if it looked like the bike would sit for few days (rain, holidays etc), but now every night - Battery fighter comes with a plug-in cable with a cap on it, it slides under the GV250 seat. I also have a Jaycar 6/12V 3 stage battery charger, and it seems to revive sick batteries.
Hmm well i got it out of the shop today (for the second time!) and its done it again, and the guys at the shop supposedly rode it every night for about 30k's and my problem never happened to them, then on the way home its done it again. Dale Britton's are calling up Hyosung Australia on monday to find out what it could be, not sure whats gonna happen from here, theyve replaced the wiring loom and the ECU and its still doing it.
hey towley!
Whenever mine decided to play up it only ever came up with the red light and only ever a couple of times did it carry on like a pork chop to the stage I turned it off and waited about ten seconds and restarted it and then all ok again! Never did find a definite cause or solution to this problem. I just put up with it and (touch wood) it seems to have sorted itself out and hasn't come on since. Is yours sorted yet or still playing up?
Nah its been in twice now and its still screwing up. After getting Dale Brittons to call Hyosung, having a chat to the head mechanic and riding it to find the problems, we've narrowed it down to a dodgy fuel pump / fuel lines and a faulty tilt sensor (the sensor that if the bike falls over it automatically turns the bike off for safety reasons). Hyosung australia are sending over a replacement fuel pump and lines and a new tilt sensor and hopefully that will fix it. Took it for a ride yesterday on what i thought was close enough so if it did break down i could limp home, ended up walking it 4k's home..
If it weren't for decent aftersales service and brilliant warranty response hyosung would be equivalent to megelli instead they're almost on par with Honda, none of the Jap brands built their reliability reputation by not fucking up they built it by putting the effort in when things went bad. Hopefully they get it sorted for you, I've seen a few cbr's suffering similar fates recently if that's any consolation![]()
